Great all-in-one box
This is a great unit if you want an all-in-one box for CDs and Network listening. I'm no audiophile, but sound quality is excellent (I have it hooked up to Mordaunt-Short bookshelf speakers and a subwoofer). Works well via the Spotify and Pioneer apps on a phone or tablet. Takes USB sticks front and back and has Bluetooth and PC streaming inputs. Will probably need a firmware update when you get it, but other than that installation and wifi setup is simple.Unlike reviewer Mario, I have had no problems when listening to Spotify. For the price, I'll confess to being to being a little bit disappointed with some lack of features. There's no sleep timer, though the unit does turn itself off after 20 minutes of no activity, so you can drift off to sleep with a CD or USB album etc, but not the radio. There are radio presets on the FM tuner (and Favourites for the Internet stations), but not on DAB, so you always have to scroll through stations on DAB. On USB, you can shuffle tracks within one folder, but not over all folders (which I can do on my car system). There is also no balance control for the speaker output (yes, I know, I know, but sometimes you can't get the speakers positioned just right for everybody in the room). The Pioneer app is good, but searching through Internet radio stations could be improved.

Versitile machine 10/10
Fantastic unit all in all. I use the CD player on a regular basis, but also have it hooked up to my plex server and record deck most days. Plenty of input options allow me to have it connected to my TV optical out serving my games console needs and component in for my media PC. Network services are fantastic, there are so many free web based radio channels available it's simply impossible to listen to them all! Chromecasting seemed a bit dodgy when I first acquired it early in 2019, but recent firmware updates have really improved many if not all of the bugs. 10/10 sound across the board.

It would be great but it has severe design flaws...
I had a similar problem as previous reviewers, which were not solved by a firmware update. The CD tray would not open.Eventually, it opened, I put in a CD, it closed, and then it would not open again. It did eventually open hours later - I got my CD out and returned the unit. Assuming it was faulty, I obtained a replacement (exactly the same make and model) from a local Hifi store - but this had the same problem as well. I took it back to the Hifi store and demonstrated the problem on my unit, and then I demonstrated the same problem with their display model in store - they sheepishly admitted that they had never tested the CD player. They offered a replacement which obviously I refused, as seeing three individual units with the exact same problem is more than enough to confirm an underlying problem.I took a refund.AVOID.

I took the plunge as did other reviewers and it's great. I mean really good
It seems the most comprehensive reviews of this unit are here on Amazon. I took the plunge as did other reviewers and it's great. I mean really good. I had a arcam solo neo which sounded superb but found the interface clunky. I wasn't expecting this unit to be as good but it is. Smooth and detailed. I was worried about 25w per channel (8ohm), but the class d digital amp seems up for the task with no audible clipping. CDs sound great, the interface is quick and the phone app essential.

No complaints.
Excellent across the board - proper hi res network. No complaints paired with KEF LS50s and Rega Planar 3. Even the phono stage is decent.

Pioneer with problems
Despite the price, something above my marked budget, I decided for this equipment because of the full features.Good sound and elegant appearance but the problems started from the first moment. After putting a cd, I could not open the reader, and only after several times turn it off and on, and a software update works but ...The second problem, without solving month and a half later, is listening to Spotify. If this is one of the reasons for buying, as it was for me being Premium I wait for you. As a summary I tell you that listening to Spotify directly is full of cuts, randomly and with interruption times of 2/3 seconds, from one / two cuts per song to about 10. Impossible to listen without despair. After checking that it was not a network problem (perfect Deezer and Tuneinn) the first thing I did was to contact Pioneer via email to which I was told, in record time, that this was a problem of the Spotify Platform and they had to solve it. There I started to look, within the Spotify Community, to see where the problem was, seeing that it was a general problem that affects not only this model of Pioneer but to several where the listening is direct through the software developed for music equipment, where the technicians of Spotify after months of "debates" continue to solve. And in case of solving it, later it will have to be transferred via firmware update launched by Pioneer, reason why if it does not work, of whom will be the problem? Our.You can listen to it without bugs via Bluetoothth but for that you do not need a device with these characteristics. Any simpler and of course cheaper will do the service.Since the return period has passed and it is not a technical problem to repair I have to wait. I will let you know if there are any changes.Update 11/09/17The problem with the CD keeps the same. I thought It was solved by an update but it wasn't. The problem comes and goes but never solved. Two weeks ago I sent an email to Pioneer service and they told me I have to take it to the technical service. I will tell you
