I currently have about 6 coats and a couple of umbrellas on mine and its perfectly fine. As I'm also having work done upstairs I keep moving it from behind the door and nothing has come loose. I really recommend this product

It really is very sturdy, we have at least 12 coats hanging on it as four of those are heavy winter coats
