Go Gas Ltd GoSystem Gardening Weed Burner

I chose this particular weed burner because the gas cylinder is butane & propane which means it burns hotter. The large cylinder lasts a couple of hours. I bought them from b&q because some delivery companies won't deliver them (understandably). £6 for a large cylinder, shake it to make sure it's full.First attempt: I followed the instructions and gave the weeds a flash of heat, the heat is supposed to travel down and kill it. I waited 10 days and they were still healthy - so that was a fail.Second attempt: scorched earth policy. Eureka!So the dark green large weeds, give them a proper burn, until they glow in the centre - 30 seconds or more. They will die off in a couple of days. Vines, again a good smoky burn and wait about a week - they die off and go brown.Small wispy stuff and stray grass, a few seconds just to dry them out.I found going around the garden twice is key. First time to dry them out in preparation. Second time they go up in smoke. If you do this every 10 days or so, the stuff that died last time will be set on fire and disappear. By your third attempt (about 30 days since you started), the paths will be clear. Absolutely spotless. No bending required. Just burn everything away.As well as paths, I use it on the edges of the grass to give a clean line, any visible weeds in the lawn too. The moss that grows on the brick garden wall, plants growing out of the wall too.Be careful, look out for worms and snails. Also, the burner end - I dip it in a bucket of cold water when I've finished, that hot poker could do a lot of damage to you or the cat/dog. The cylinder is self sealing, so remove it afterwards. Purchased this to remove weeds from some crazy paving. Thought this was larger burner than some others advertised but it’s not. Works Fine with new gas bottle but very quickly flame looses its ferocity even though gas is probably three quarters full and it takes ages to burn weeds. Also easy effected by slightest wind or breeze and if got full day to spare good luck. Within a few days weeds had grown back so not very effective

I was a little wary of using any butane gas burner for the first time, but have to say this weed burner has been so easy and effective. Patio area had grass growing between the flags in multiple areas, too difficult to pull out, and driveway had weeds full length alongside the wall. The 2350 gas cartridge I bought screwed firmly onto this weed burner and the weight and balance were perfect. Lighting the burner was simple just turned the gas release valve slightly and pressed on the piuzo ignition button located down the shaft and instant light, then turned up the gas release further for very strong burn. Grass was destroyed in seconds and weeds with big leaves slightly longer, extremely effective at burning them all down to ground level and actually a very enjoyable process! None of the weeds have returned yet, the grass grew back slightly after a few weeks of very hot weather, but that was expected and I'm looking forward to burning them away again if they become unsightly. despite a lot of use and also using it to very effectively and quickly light charcoal for the BBQ many times i am still on my original bottle of gas. Highly recommended and would buy again. My packaging was black background with yellow writing.

This item arrived and is not a Go Gas GoSystem weed burner as advertised, it is a Marksman weed burner according to the large outer box but as there are no markings on it nor any other packaging so I can't actually tell.There are no instructions for use. So consequently no safety instructions which is highly questionable.

Very happy with this product purchase - having used a cheapo, ineffectual, 'burner' in the past.This Gosystem weed burner gives a powerful, controllable burn as required, lights easily with the installed ignitor.I like the Gosystem standard screw connection for gas cylinders as this is more secure and leak free (and safer imho).I paired this with the Gosystem butane/propane mix gas cartridges as I've used such before on camping stoves etc and am happy with the quality of both the canisters and the gas mix there-in.Recommend this if you've got lots of weeds to incinerate in your paths/patio etc - the gas goes a long way and the burn is very effective and powerful while the lance length keeps you out of harms way! (But don't wear flip-flops!)Nicely balanced in the hand with good length so no 'stooping' etc (I am 6ft and had no issues/requirements to bend over while using)I can recommend this product and Gosystem as a producer of quality, reasonably priced, products.

I am very pleased with this device.It has an automatic piezo-electric lighting mechanism, and seems to burn well. The handle/grip is comfortable to hold.It is of course a burner, so it will burn weeds down to the ground - some weeds will die off and some weed-types will regrow from the roots. This is a weed-burner and not a weed-killer.It can be used with any butane or butane/propane cartridge that uses a self-sealing connection that complies with EN417. On the packaging GoSystem obviously recommend their own cartridges, eg 2350, 2175, but it does also state on the packaging under "Important Infiormation" that any EN417 compliant cartridge can be used. On the prodiuct page here it also states that the GoSystem 2289 can also be used.I found this Burner also availble in my local HomeBargains for a couple of quid cheaper, but they did not carry stock of the gas cartridges. They show the gas cartridges on their website for £1.99 each if you buy a pack of 12, but they show as out of stock.Update 5 May 2018: just happened to be shopping near my local Home Bargains and popped in for a quick look - today they had the GoSystem 2350 propane/butane mix cartridges on the shelf for £1.99 each. I grabbed 6.

Very easy to use even with minimal instructions- gas bottle easy to fit and can be removed when not in use - turn gas on click button and away you go - turn gas off to stop - I was actually pleasantly surprised how long the gas lasted
