Don't buy if you want a peaceful life...but do if you want a happy cat!
My boy has been obsessed with these since he was a kitten, and he’s now 5 years old. We’ve tried plenty of treats over the years, but nothing compares to Thrive’s freeze-dried chicken. He absolutely loves them – so much so that he’ll tear into the Amazon box if we don’t unpack it fast enough! He’s a very vocal (typical Siamese), and when these are in the house, he doesn’t let us forget it. We get constant meows, yowls and full-on harassment until he gets his fix. And fair warning: they need to be locked away securely. On more than one occasion, our little thief has broken into the cupboard or clawed open the packet if we’ve left it out. They’re not the cheapest treats, but honestly, they’re worth every penny for how much he enjoys them. Pure chicken, no junk, and clearly delicious (if his enthusiasm is anything to go by). Highly recommend – just be ready for the harassment!

Cats love this stuff !
I’ve been buying Thrive treats for my Ragdoll. cat since 2011 , he would refuse all the other treats the other cats loved , keeping only to his boring kitty kibble , I did feel sorry for him at treat time . But when I discovered these , he couldn’t get enough of them waking me up in the middle of the night , refusing to come in until the tub rattled and if I stood my ground he’d return looking bedraggled and in a complete mess from hiding in the garden hedge all day sulking! He quickly became heavily dependent on Thrive and I was eventually only going to work to feed his habit ! But as he’s got older we’ve been able to manage his habit. Never withdrawing him completely but allowing him a fix only at meal times . He will still refuse all food unless there is a freshly crumbled Thrive treat on his kitty kibble and stops half way through so he can get the rest of his daily allowance. I have to say that - this little guy never touched wet food - we think he associated wet food with the tummy troubles he had as a tiny kitten but Thrive has helped him overcome this fear and obviously doesn’t upset his tummy , he now eats wet tuna flake wet cat food and wet chicken breast wet cat food, as long as there has been a freshly crumbled Thrive sprinkled on the top ! This is a relief as he is getting on in years now and never been one for cleaning his teeth, so he’s going to need a wet food diet at some time in the future. There is no real smell to these treats , obviously they must taste good as they all like them , I prefer to buy in the large tubs as feel these are better quality than smaller tubes , too many of the smaller tubes I have bought in the past were so hard you’d need a hammer to break them . Romeo gets through approx Tub and 1/2 every 4 weeks and I can’t say how long they keep as never in the house for longer than 3 weeks . The large tubs are always full to the brim , whereas the smaller tubes I’ve purchased look half empty and the actual treats as I said rock hard . The large tubs have a foil covering that keeps them fresh . The large tubes can be recycled into fab little crayon boxes and other handy little containers with a bit of sticky black plastic and imagination , even used them as flower pots. I cant say anything else except my little guy loves them !

Massive decline in quality
I’ve been buying Thrive fish treats for years, and although expensive the quality has always been superb. This was not the case with the latest batch. The tub is now larger, which I thought was odd as the weight of treats is the same. The treats smell horrible, they used to have a strong, but not unpleasant, white fish odour, now they smell strange, hardly like fish at all.The texture used to be soft, you could tear the treats apart (I need to do this as they are a bit too big) the treats would tear and flake apart nicely. This latest batch is hard and crispy, if you try to break them apart they crumble into dust. The only difference I can see on the packaging is that it no longer states that they are produced in the UK (it does on my last pack) and the establishment number is different. Are Thrive now using a cheaper company to produce these, leading to a decline in the quality?I don’t know what the issue is but I won’t be purchasing these again, really disappointing as my cats used to love them.

I have to hide the tub in a closed cupboard otherwise no matter where it is my cats will find it!
Edit: i purchased a tub of these and they were not the same as normal. None of my animals even wanted to smell them and just from opening it i could tell they were not right.I contacted amazon and received a replacement which was perfect- i assume they were over freeze dried. These treats are great and i cant think of why any animal will dislike ones that are a good batch.Hopefully they are not testing new treats otherwise i will have to stop buying so just keep that into consideration if your ones seem off, maybe its a bad batch. My cats and dog love these.Just a slight noise of the tub being moved they all come running. The pieces are nice sized, some are a little small and at the bottom usually powder accumulates but it’s still used as topping other food. The larger pieces I sometimes have to break up.Easy for the pets to eat, healthy and tasty- they all go crazy and impatient for these.Price seems a little steep for treats but always worth it

Great treat for elderly cat
Great treat for elderly cat that is losing weight. The treats can be given individually or sprinkled on top of meat. Easy to crumble. Cat loves them.
