Our kids are huge fans of Nerf products and a recent gift voucher allowed my 8 year old to choose and order the Vortex Diatron. It has just arrived - the look of excitement on his face as he opened the box was magical. He then read the instructions and we went through the operating method together... 1st operation of the load and fire sequence was difficult but successful. 2nd attempt he tried to do it on his own, but couldn't. On the 3rd attempt he passed it to me and now the cocking handle is stuck in the 'open' position. No amount of squeezing, pushing and general manipulation can make it reload and close. Absolutely dreadful and heartbreaking for my son. I think if I push and wrench on it too much the flimsy handle will snap off, negating any chance of a refund... It won't even go back in the box as the handle is stuck at a 45 degree angle. Read all of the reviews on this item before you add it to your basket, or face the same fate we did.
