These OLD devices are great!
The move controllers are brilliant and a perfect accessory to the PS:VR, which is why I bought them. Sure you can play most of the games without them, but it's just not the same.Disappointingly, though the box has been updated, the devices themselves haven't changed at all since PS3. The worst thing about this is that you'll need a separate mini-USB charger lead and can't share the microUSB you'll probably be using for your DualShocks. They also have "Select" and "Start" buttons rather than "Share" and "Options" - not such a big deal because compatible games obviously cater for that. But I wouldn't mind using older models quite so much if we were paying the prices they were at prior to PSVR!But they do work perfectly well with the PS4, and, especially in VR games, can make a massive difference in immersion. For example in Tumble VR, the control is a lot more intuitive as the objective is to stack boxes, which is really intuitive using the baton-type device to grab and rotate the blocks. In games using two hands (like The London Heist in PS VR Worlds) it's amazing how much the controllers make a difference as in some scenes you are shoving a magazine into a handgun, pointing and shooting, and others you are lighting a cigar. Similarly in Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, I simply can't imagine how I'd cope without being able to point the two guns at two scary clowns approaching from slightly different directions - it just doesn't bear thinking about!Overall, great devices - and I look forward to seeing more titles making full use of them (would even like to see some non-VR); but I'm seriously peeved at the jacked-up price, for what's effectively old kit, and I know I'll have to bite my tongue if a true next generation version is released any time soon...

Puts VR firmly in your own hands.
Game changing, literally. Ever since I bought thePlaystation VR and the camera I’ve realised that while you can get by quitehappily with the Playstation Move controllers, certain games are so much betterwhen you have them in your hands. The demand for the VR headset and the Move controllers meantthat I had to wait over a month to find stock, and I’d been going along playingthe excellent Until Dawn: Rush of Blood game with the Dual Shock controller obliviousto the benefits I was missing. After receiving my Move controllers it becameimmediately obvious how much they improved the VR experience. Suddenly theoutstretched, gun toting arms in front of me actually felt like they were myown. Being able to twist and turn my hands individually and control each gun independently to the other feels so much better. It’s taken a few games to get used to thebutton layout, which is necessary when you’re in VR world and can’t see what’sactually in your hand. But everything is well placed and the controllers arecomfortable. We’re at the early stages of VR, but the early signs havebeen very promising. The danger was that the uptake would be slow and gamedevelopers weren’t going to dedicate resources to a gimmicky new gadget if thedemand wasn’t there. However, it seems that there is a definite buzz andprovided Sony continue to throw their weight behind the system and qualitygames such as Resident Evil are available the future of VR is bright. And withthe immersion it provides the Playstation Move is likely to become a necessarypurchase rather than an optional topping.

Very good
Have only used the controllers once with my VR as they were sold out everywhere for a while (sold out again from Amazon the same day I purchased too).In short, yes the tech is from PS3, and yes Sony could have done something to at least change the look of the controllers (different colours maybe, or some VR branding? Also the labels for buttons). However, I used them to play Rush of Blood which I have been enjoying with a DS4, and I have to say it really makes a difference. Aiming is accurate, responsive and really adds to the feeling of being in the game world . Looking forward to trying out a few other games with the controllers too.If getting the VR was a stretch budget wise then I would not say spending the additional money on the Move controllers is essential. However I can say that for the brief time I have had to use them so far they are a great addition to the set up if you can buy them.
