Q: I have blonde highlighted hair, but my dark brown roots are coming through quickly! My hair is quite brassy too :/ can i still use this?

It might show but very faintly if so, my hair is a natural mouse blonde and It works on my hair perfectly, dark brown it may struggle. shampoo your hair and apply it after rinsing and towel drying until hair is damp, don't dilute the colour with conditioner as it probably won't show, I normally leave it on for a good 2 hours as the hair is not prelightened. Maybe apply to your roots and leave for a little while before applying through your lighter ends. I hope this helps!

Q: Will it show on dark kinky african hair

I don’t have African hair but do have wiry curly hair, I have to bleach my hair first, I only do this about once a year as I don’t want the bleach to ruin the hair structure and my hair doesn’t grow fast. The Directions colours aren’t permanent so I recolour every few weeks without worrying about damage as it’s kind to hair.😊

Q: Does this work with natural grey/silver hair?

Yes but not very strong I use Piller box red and when I first use it the result is a paler red but as soon as I wash my hair the grey goes pink so the colour doesn’t last long, it’s much better if you dye the grey with a blond dye a couple of days before putting the colour on, then it works brilliantly.

Q: how long does it last?

It depends on how often you wash your hair, how porous your hair is, the colour you go for, they bolder shades fade into pastel as you wash your hair. I'd say around five to ten washes, but over 24 to fully wash out, again depending on how light your base colour is. If you want bold colours to last dry shampoo if your friend! And washing in cold water also helps it last longer. Hope this is helpful x
