I am lousy at sharpening knives! I have tried various sharpeners with poor results. This one works well for me. Excellent sharpener watched demonstration at trade show decided to buy later but it had sold out.Came home Amazon stocked same brand bought and at a better price than trade show .Used on scissors .kitchen equipment and small garden shears brilliant

I have used an older version for years, however I saw this professional model and purchased it for my wife who works in a restaurant.It's a very small but robust item, having a metal body compared to the older plastic body.It's very simple and safe to use, the suction pad grips firmly and the knives are quickly sharpened to a professional standard.I believe it's value for money and would last a household for many years.

Smaller than I expected but it appears to work very well and I have finally got a shrp edge on some old knives.

I liked the fact that this more expensive version had less plastic in than its counterpart, It does sharpen well, and i spent much time sharpening many of my kitchen knives, and as it does say it sharpens them at a perfect angle, which with an oil stone one cant always achieve that, i have had the product around 2 years now, but hasve found recently its become very ineffective , to the extent that i have returned to using the oil stone again, I feel for the price it should have lasted around 5 years but this was not so.Many surfaces it will not adhere to with suction, so i found a flat piece of old greenhouse glass the best method, as i could not get it to stick on kitchen worktops at all, So my advice is keep a piece of glass to use it as a suction service, not ideal i know.

I have always used a steel for knife sharpening but this is much quicker & easier.Sometimes needs a couple of goes at getting base to stick but once it does, works great. I guess it’s just getting the knack for making base secure.Well worth it.
