KEENMen's Clearwater CNX Sandal

Really good product replaces a pair that lasted 15years

Great sandles true to size and look pretty cool .

Lightweight, contoured, strapped shoes. Easy to put on and comfortable to wear can be used like open sandals or with socks if preferred. Well contoured to give full foot support.

My husband always wears Keen sandals, so I felt confident in ordering his usual size 9's. He was pleased with the closed rubber toe and the fabric construction appeared sturdy and well made. He first tried them on wearing socks in case they didn't fit and had to be returned, and could not get his foot in at all. Even after opening the drawcord at the front to its fullest extent his foot would not go in any further than the instep. Without socks he made more headway- and we could see that the sandals were big enough- but the problem lies with the fixed and non-stretchy back strap which has no adjustment and no means of opening it. The sandal is in fact more like an open shoe. Eventually, and with the aid of a pull-up cord threaded through the tab at the back of the heel, (and a lot of swearing) he managed to get his foot in, and finds them flexible and comfortable in use. But owing to the struggle he has with the sandals every time they are put on or removed, he is not wearing them as frequently as his old pair. Nb there is no mention of the construction in the description and it is not really obvious on the accompanying photograph. I do not know if going up a size would make things any better since once they are on they do fit and are not tight at all.

I have had a number of Keen sandals and my favourite to date has been the Newport H2 - my go to casual and water sports sandal.However, my wife always complained that hey looked too chunky, so thought I would try the Clearwater CNX in leather this time.I must admit that they are pretty similar to the Newports - a bit lighter and finer and the leather makes them look a little classier, but the same sole and grip.Been out walking in them a few times and they come up a little smaller than the Newports, hopefully there will be a bit of give in the leather once they get wet.All in all - the usual Keen comfort, support and protection.

Colour was listed as ‘sky captain/ black’ and picture seemed to show as black. They are dark blue with black sole. Not a fashionista needing to match shoes to clothes so doesn’t matter to me really.

Very comfortable and provides good stability. Too soon to really comment on durability, but it's well made and seems promising.

This product is good but it is not the same as the product online. They had a heel strap and this was why I ordered them.
