Boomco Whipblast

My son has loads of fun with this Whipblast.

Boomco guns are pretty powerful, this was the second one we had and was very pleased

Looks great, but purchased as a Christmas gift so not used yet

Son loves this quite powerful for a small gun..

Good foam dart weaponry, nice design with good ergonomics and build quality. Good fire-power from the gun as well, fast rate of fire. I like the rotating pump/air action but the real winner is the range which is utterly great and easily over 60ft. RecommendedNote the darts aren't compatible with Nerf darts.

Had BOOMco, the manufacturers of this blaster, shown a degree of common sense I would probably be writing a rave review for this item. The Whipblast is in many ways a dream toy for a young boy; I know that when I was nine or ten I would have loved to have owned a “gun” that fired darts with such ferocity that, when aimed correctly, can fly well over sixty feet. The fact that the darts sting a little when they hit somebody would only make the Whipblast even more desirable. Unfortunately what has annoyed me is that BOOMco only include four darts, enough to fully load the blaster, but have not included any “spares” whatsoever. Because the darts fly such long distances it is inevitable that they will get lost and that is exactly what happened when my daughter carried out a field test of the blaster. Within a hour two darts seemed to have disappeared from the face of the Earth, and a further dart was lost the second time the blaster was used, leaving just one dart. I realise that further darts can be purchased but that is beside the point; anybody receiving a product like this as a present would not expect to have to fork out for replacement parts after it had only been played with twice.
