Great filter all round.
Easy to set up.Priming the filter is easy.Accessing the media to clean is easy.Noise from the pump is minimal.Working brilliantly for my 125L tank.Glad I went for the EF-250 and would recommend

Solid little filter, just so happy with it, actually did my first video because of how silent it is
The media could not be loaded. Shockingly good for its price. I've always used internal filters for reasons I dont even know anymore after getting this.Dont know anything about the company or any of their other products but everything came in great packaging (box inside a thicker stronger box) all laid out and sectioned well.Took about 5 minutes to set up. The only annoying part was the pipes stay coiled so bend where they want to at first but it's only a minor niggle. The media supplied is stellar. Course to fine foams for the mechanical poop/sludge, bioballs for biological bacteria and theres about 4inches of spare depth to add your own stuff like ceramic rings and a large bag of activated carbon meaning this thing is doing a wonderful amount of work. Because of its size i should only need to clean it once a month for the activated carbon but waterflow is strong (400 litres and hour in an 80litre tank so over 4x the processing which is perfect)If the power cuts it will keep running just at a lower flow rate (natural physics over being pumped) and supplied bar adds good oxygen and current to the tank. The pipe holes are thin enough not to suck up fry or shrimps so buying an aluminium/stainless steel mesh cover isnt neededLastly the priming. For me.Dont put the lid on, just insert the inflow and watch the pipe, this will fill up naturally. Close the valve when water reaches the lid.Add some water to fill the canister, submerge the exit pipe this will also fill naturallyStart the pump by plugging it inPut on the lid.I originally had problems because I had then lid on first and this created negative pressure so when I plugged it it wouldnt work properly. Once you work this out you'll never have a problemI'm only ever going to stick with external filters from now on.

Comes with a few quirks but it's livable
Works great, simple and straightforward. However they failed to mention how to connect everything together. So you will struggle if you take off the plastic tightener and assume you put the hose through it first then back tighten it. That won't work. You will need to leave everything as it came then connect the hose physically to the plastic connectors THEN loosen the plastic part until it no longer turns. It's somewhat backwards especially if you're used to christmas lights connectors and fasteners but it's connect first then unwind to tighten the hose into the thread.Otherwise everything works great, green hose could be made more pliable as it is rather stiff, I recommend using a hair dryer to heat it up so it straightens up a little. Found that the cage for intake had bits of plastic (presumably from when it was molded) over so had to cut that up with a sharp blade but it was mainly the bottom part. The waterfall like feature is rather inconsistent but that's just physics cause the first outlet closes to the outtake pipe would be strongest and the furthest away would have the weakest so you dont get that even water height/pressure- also sags a little.Otherwise I'm fairly happy with the canister it's perfect for my 60L aquarium because it needs to handle the bioload I add and it means that if it's not working at full capacity I can provide a gentler output. However, I find the residence of the aquarium love playing against the waterflow of it.Overall for the price of it, it's absolutely great. Works and functions pretty well. Messy to clean up though so I recommend having a bowl under when you decided to disconnect or clean the sponges. Otherwise it's really good for what it's worth, it just has a few quirks like making sure the fan/motor is positioned away from objects or else you get that quiet humming side that can be irritating and if you can just get past that initial startup cleaning it doesnt need your attention.I like using the larger output and position it against the glass to make it quiet and my residents love playing against the current of it.

Excellent!!
The media could not be loaded. Excellent external filter, very quiet. I purchase it for my 25litre tank, crystal clear waterA few negatives thou:Priming it is a nightmareThe filter has to be level with the tank for it push through any air bubbles( be mindful if you are placing it in a cabinet with the pipes etcI found filling the canister to the top with aquarium water helps prime it fasterThe spray bar clips ain’t much use so I choose to use the water fall attachmentIf you get past minor issues , then It’s a cracking filter

Wouldn’t recommend to my worse enemy
I got this as a replacement for a 15 year old 205 fluval external pump. When the pump arrived I was very disappointed setting it up, it was flimsy, the clips to hold the lid on kept falling off, inlet pipe was crushed despite the box being in prefect condition. When i finally manage to set it up, behold it’s got air leaks, water leaking from the bottom seal from behind the pump, the pump can’t get enough water out of the tank due to the inlet pipe being crushed.Absolute waste of money, I was that upset that I’d wasted £45 on this that I’ve took a hammer to it and thrown it in the recycling bin where it belonged.I honestly wish this review was fake, but it’s true.Avoid avoid avoid buying this just stick with the fluval ones should have taken my own advice!Massively disappointed with this product and the fact they have put their name on it is even worse, just shows they’re willing to push rubbish out just to get the money in.
