Does a very good job
I own the ctek 10amp and have used it a couple of times and it did what it said on the box, I bought this 5amp as its a lot kinder on these start stop battetys I still use the 10amp on ordinary batterys and five on stop.start battety to maintain them

Fast delivery. No nasty surprises.
Ordered in the early hours of Sunday morning, arrived after lunch on Monday! The unit has a mains lead with a UK plug and another lead which ends in a small socket. There are two leads which can be attached to this socket, one with croc clips (as shown in the product photo) and the other with two eyelets, suitable for a permanent installation. There is also a manual and a very useful drawstring bag, which can hold the charger, the cables and the manual. The manual is straightforward, as is the operation of the charger. The charger does get quite warm in operation, so it would be sensible to follow the manual's advice not to place the charger on top of the battery being charged. I haven't tried the alternator test yet but the other functions seem to work as described. I can't yet tell if it has managed to resurrect an old 12v battery from my Prius - time will tell.

If you have Start/Stop and energy recuperation you need this charger.
This is small but perfectly suitable for most car batteries especially if you have start/Stop technology and energy recuperation. I still have a 7A version of CETEK charger but decided to change to this model as it is a lower amperage and is perfect for my system. Stop/Start with energy recuperation is all well and good in summer and no or little night time driving. Due to the way the charging system works your battery will be charged o.k. in summer but cold and night time driving and the much smaller batteries fitted ( to save production costs only ) you will quite possibly have a battery too low to start on a cold day, Retired Motor Vehicle Technician.

So far so good. Bought this after our small run around car wasnt starting, had a flat battery a couple of times and always had to resort to jump starting. So purchased this to give the battery a good charge, and make it a lot more reliable. I took the product out of the box, and unfortunatly the leads to connect to the battery were too short, so i had to remove the battery from the car, which wasnt too bad.. put the battery on charge in the garage on recon mode, and so far so good, its been a cold month, and the car has started every time since charing it. At the moment i have the lesuire battery out of my boat on a maintence charge. Seems to be working well. Since ordering this i found you can order extenstion leads for the charger, so i have purchased one so that next time i dont have to remove the battery from the car to charge it. Update: having had this for a while now I have charged and reconditioned a few batteries (for relatives and friends) I am really impressed with it - since this post I have purchased the extension lead for it which makes life easier - charging without removing the battery!

A good battery charger.
I very good charger, I used it to charge my stop start battery and although it took a long time, but it did it. It charges at one rate where as other chargers can be set to charge at much higher rate than this one. I think it only charges at 5 amps.

This battery charger/maintainer works excellently with almost no effort to recharge a weak battery or maintain a battery in cars that aren't driven regularly. This is especially important in colder weather as the charge can drop enough to be unable to start the vehicle. This almost happened to my 2011 BMW 535i Xdrive 95Ah battery after not moving it for 2 weeks mid winter. I got several low charge warnings but thought they would go away once I drove a bit, but trips were far and few between. The charger power cord is hard wired, and the output leads have a fast clip connector at the far end to plug in either the alligator clip ends or 1/4" eyelets for a more permanent connection to make frequent charging easier. Both the power cord and the output leads are 6' long for a total of 12' plus another 18 inches for either the alligator clip or eyelet connectors, so there's plenty of length to position the charger where you want. The clips are spark free and have polarity protection so you don't have to worry about those when making your connection. Plugging the device in starts it in standard vehicle battery mode. Other modes include motorcycle for smaller vehicles, AGM for those batteries, and a reconditioning mode to restore full capacity to batteries that have lost some charge capability. From almost dead, it took about 28 hours to go through all 7 phases of charge. Patience is the way to go here, don't check often, especially if you have to open a door or hood to do so. I found it best to leave it under the hood with it slightly ajar and check every 4 hours or so. Resist the urge to unplug it because you think it's not progressing. It is. Even in cold weather it will get your battery back in great condition with little more than the press of one button. Highly recommended.
