Have received the sunscreen but none of the bottles have a cap on the spray nozzle - is this right or do they need to be returned ?

Mine had a cap, your one may have been a returned one or the cap just fell off when packing, either way I would personally return and ask for a new one

It's water resistant, make sure you reapply after swimming.
