Good quality power supply from this unit
The unit feels well made of good materials in and mounting brackets. The output supply waveform is smooth with no distortion so is well suited to powering computers and other supply sensitive equipment. Remember this is a pure sine wave output inverter that puts out the same quality supply as you expect from the main power grid system when you plug into a house socket. The cheaper versions are quasi-sine wave and I don't recommend them, it's worth paying the extra for a unit like this with proper sine wave output. Also, remember it is critical to have a solid connection on the 12V wiring to a battery that is well charged and in good condition. If you are going to put heavy loads on it such as a 1KW microwave oven, then you need a battery with a 120AH or better capacity, and also ensure that the connections to the battery are properly clamped. The quick release battery clamps are not really suitable and this is reflected in the 12V cables supplied with the unit that expects to be screwed down to the battery post.I have actually got 2 units of this version and a bigger 3.5KW version and all work well and have been reliable. The remote control which is basically on/off with a battery level indicator fits into a standard electrical wall patress size fitting so is easy to mount and has a decent length of cable. Also don't be tempted to extend the length of the leads for the 12V to the battery, the current pull on heavy loads will drop voltage over the extended cables and cause problems. Always connect the unit directly to the battery, use the remote and if that remote cable is not long enough its a standard patch cable used for computer networks you can buy to place the remote in a convenient place for on/off control.

Go bigger
Works perfectly up to the rated wattage but you always need more. Used to power my pond on sunny days but never enough in the UK to constantly charge batteries. I tried plugging in a vacuum cleaner at the same time as charging my makita battery and it tripped as went over wattage hence the title.

On the whole, pretty good
It is a good device and does the job but sometimes it struggles with power that it shouldn't have any difficulty with. Not big surges on start-up but actually a pretty low rated device (ie less than 700w) yet it complained when I turned it on. No big capacitors or coils in the device so not sure what its problem was. You can get around it by turning the device on before turning the inverter on. Odd.Still, I think it is a great bit of kit and would buy another if I ever needed another one.

Not pure sine
Nothing with a touch screen will work when plugged in to a charger running from this inverter. My laptop's touchpad has hideous feedback when on charge from this inverter and the laptop takes longer than usual to charge whilst making the power supply warmer than normal. There is no way this is outputting a pure sine wave. Some chargers when plugged into this inverter without a gadget to charge cause it to shut off the output and beep continuously as if they triggered the overload protection despite being low power chargers; very strange indeed.Physically, the unit seems well made and there's a seemingly useful display on it, however, given that the power output isn't actually pure sine, it's hard to trust the other info displayed.Maybe this unit is just faulty, but I'm certainly not impressed and I wish I spent the extra on a reputable brand to get a real pure sine wave inverter - my previous pure sine wave inverter died after 8 years of reliable use and this product seemed like a good replacement without spending too much.

Great transformer. I bought this to replace a cheap ...
Great transformer.I bought this to replace a cheap £20 "1500w" inverter from ebay. When I plugged in a 500w heater in to that first one it kept tripping out. So I asked for a refund for that and they gave it without even asking for me to return it (which just goes to show they know it wasn't great to start with). Then I bought this - good inverters seem to cost in this region and it's not cheap. But I plugged the heater in and it worked fine, along with running a few other items, probably 700w total. One thing you should be aware of that a lot of people don't seem to be on these reviews - is that many items need between 3-7x their rated output to start up. Fridges are a classic example - the compressor on a fridge requires a big spike of juice to begin with, after that it may need hardly any at all - if it is rated at 150w then it may need anywhere between 500-1000w to begin with - so before buying an inverter make sure that it is covering much more than what you need.

Great value
Arrived in good packaging well protected. Appears to be really well built with connecting leads terminated in ring blades , the leads supplied to connect to the battery terminals are of good quality and of good cross section. Tried on a lcd telly and laptop which have both worked with no problem. The built in lcd display shows both output voltage and battery voltage and the inverter itself has two cooling fans for when the unit is under heavy load to keep things nice and cool. It's replacing a 600 watt unit we have and is going to be used with a leisure battery and 80 watt solar panel when we go camping off grid. The unit is physically bigger than the one it is replacing but it is almost three times the loading so is to be expected. Will update the review when it's been used in the field ( literally ).
