Good item but doesn't work for the purpose I purchased it ....
This didn't work for the purpose I bought it ... That said it seems a quality product, well built, well packaged and clearly operates but as I say didn't work for the purpose I purchased it for.I wanted a usb extension to power my IMOU security camera from outside the garage door to the power point inside ... When I plugged it in it worked fine but then realised that the built in security light when activated was pulsing ... The IR light / sensor was doing the same. I thought it was the camera at first but swapped it to be powered through the standard cable and it worked fine no pulsing. Can only assume it's the repeater ... Tried another similar cable as yes the same.So if you want it for data transfer I'm sure this will be a great bit of kit but for powering security cameras with usb power connectors then it's likely that you will have problems with this cable.Don't let this review put you off if you want this cable for a different purpose I'm sure it will work for you.

My intention was to extend the length of a Wireless ...
My intention was to extend the length of a Wireless Mouse Dongle in my loft that is connected to my CCTV Harddrive, in order that the dongle is above where I sit underneath in the living room. I'd already tried a 10m standard USB cable, but this didn't work. After consulting various people on Amazon, I was informed that i'd need a 10m Extension Cable with Active Repeater as the signal weakens after 5m.Unfortunately despite trying the above Cable this failed to work again. I am now gonna try with a 5m cable & by moving the box/ wires in the loft.I have no issues with the cable, but i'm sorry this didn't work for me,

Reliable repeater at low price. I like it.
Sometimes, you need length. This cable provides it. A digital signal can only travel so far before the signal is degraded and errors start occuring, and that is why you typically don't find very long USB leads. This one has active electronics in the end that will repeat the signal, so it is fresh to transmit along the length of whatever cable you plug into it. That does require a small amount of power so don't expect to use power-hungry devices with one of these. In all honesty though, I haven't tried that so I can't say for sure if that would be a problem, but I think it might. The device I use with it is a 3D-printer, which typically only requires very low transfer speeds, so I can't comment on throughput either, but I can say so far it has been perfectly reliable. Just a shame it comes in that hideous blue color but hey, it was the cheapest I could find and it did show that in the picture. Can't have everything, right?

Avoid for Logitech C920
Brought as a bundle with the Logitech C920 to extend its cable (amazon up sells this cable with the webcam), but it did not work at all. Tried on 3 different PCs (Windows 10, Windows 7, and Linux), and it would sometimes recognise the camera, but wouldn't send a picture through at all. Plugged the USB in directly and it works fine. At least for extending HD webcams, avoid this cable!

Repeater Extension 10m Cable - USB2.0 .. "Have no Doubts"
I have 3 Webcams set up to monitor my premises. I have a normal 5m USB2.0 cable to each of them, and plugged into a hub next to my Tower. I've tried joining cables before, and it's a "no go" above 5m. Lately, I have built a "24ft x 10ft deck with a porch" in the back garden. It is huge, and requires that when I am out there I can monitor the front of my home using Webcam CCTV & my laptop.I spotted this cable while i was browsing Amazon. I saw the spec and ordered (1) to test it. It was here next morning "Up front & Center" (A N D), delivered by van "Royal Mail". Not bad for FREE postage. "Have no Doubts" This cable works (And Some). I hooked the original 5m cable into a Hama USB 2.0 Hub http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0017X0R20/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00And then into the repeater Cable (Giving me a full 15m cable). I can sit in the porch and monitor the Front via 2 USB Webcams & my Lappy. OHhhhhhhhhhhh !! And BTW. I have ordered another for a similar project. Top Notch. Top Price. Not flimsy. GREAT ;)

Cable didn't work for me, but EXCELLENT customer service!
Arrived this afternoon, plugged it in hoping to improve the performance of my newly acquired Netgear 300N USB dongle, and whilst it lit the light (dimly) on the dongle my computer would not recognize it, and told me "...a USB device has malfunctioned...". I tried several times in various ports. Not a peep! Placed the dongle back on Netgear's supplied short USB cable and the dongle works as well as it always has (not particularly well, hence the reason for buying the Trixes cable).I tried it with other devices including a flashcard reader, with exactly the same result, my computer doesn't recognize the USB device.I contacted the supplier who promptly sent another cable for me to try. At the same time I ordered a 2-into-1 USB cable to boost the power available to the cable. The second cable worked a little better, but there was no improvement in the function of the dongle in spite of the dongle now being much closer to the router. The signal was also extremely unstable and frequently dropped out.I don't have ANY such problems with the dongle plugged straight into my PC, especially now that I am also using the 2-into-1 USB cable with it.Incidentally, the first cable sent still refuses to work at all.So, two conclusions.1) The cable appears to be unsuitable for extending a wifi dongle in order to obtain a better signal from a wifi router. I'm not saying it won't ever work, but it doesn't work for mine. Make sure to try it with extra power if you can before you send it back, it might make all the difference.2) The supplying company has EXCELLENT customer service and I can't fault their communications or the manner in which they resolved this matter.

Suspect quality
The main issue is that my computer intermittently loses contact with laser printer on the end of this long cable. Windows operating system regularly said it could not find any printer. Had to remove the cable because of the unreliability.
