Still using in 2024 when bought 2018
I purchased this calculator on the 6th February 2018 and I am still using it now till the present date (13th July 2024) it is still functioning perfectly and has never had an issue with the battery, however after frequent use over years the print on the buttons is fading which is to be expected after all these years. This is a good quality calculator that lasts a long time and without needing to worry about the battery life and the print on the screen is also big and easy to see unlike some of the new calculator models.

Lovely Calculator
I bought this calculator for school as I love the pink colour of it which is different and colourful compared to the usual black calculators they have at school. It has proved very helpful during my maths and science exams having all the settings and buttons required. In general, a great quality product which does what you expect it to!

How happy was I when not only could I buy this ...
Had to get my daughter this exact model for school however the choice on her book list was only the black version which was only available in our local school books shop at an inflated price. How happy was I when not only could I buy this on Amazon for half the or but it also came in pink!!!! Double bonus. The item itself obviously works as it should but the nice pink colour is pretty and so makes her maths homework seem marginally less mundane so top marks for that!

The approved secondary school calculator
The FX-85 is the approved calculator model at my children’s secondary school. I have 2 - black and pink. Other than colour, they’re exactly the same. Solar powered and built to last. I’ve got other solar powered Casio’s that I’ve had for years and years and still going strong.Plus, amazon sometimes have them priced at £6.00, which represents cracking good value. As for the calculator itself, it has all the functionality they will likely require through to University. It’s also light and doesn’t seem to scratch, even though my kids constantly throw to to the bottom of their school bags.

The solar power is great, because it doesn't run out of battery
Calculator works as expected. The solar power is great, because it doesn't run out of battery. The color is nice as well, with the cover being a slightly lighter pink than the actual calculator. The buttons are a little flimsy, and the plastic doesn't seem too well put together, but so far it has held up being thrown around in a backpack. Good, cheap calculator for casual use.

Accepted with most exam boards!
I use this for my University exams since I am not allowed to use my graphical calculator. There are no integration or differentiation functions so it should be suitable for all exams, GCSE and A-level.It is really light and doesn't take much space in your pencil case. The only thing I don't like is the feet on the back of the calculator aren't exactly the same height so when I put it on a flat desk it can wobble about. However the feet on the back of the cover of the calculator are the same height and it doesn't wobble when you use that.

Perfect
I've been using this calculator for over 3 years now and it's still working perfectly. I love the colour and would definitely recommend this calculator to anyone looking for a scientific calculator for school, work or personal use.

Wont be losing this one!
I had this calculator before but in the standard grey colour. As an engineering student EVERYONE has this model and it could get a bit confusing (my friends kept putting it in their bags and then finding they had 2 later, as did I with theirs) so I had my name written in the old one. However now there'll be no more confusion! Also being in a male dominated subject the pink calculator makes up for my being a bit of a tomboy.I only replaced my old one as I fully lost it during the first few weeks of term, though I had had it for 5/6 years and it never had any problems.Great model calculator, comes very recommended for GCSEs and above! Has a slide on front case to protect it. The cover is a lighter pink than the front of the calculator itself (same colour as the pale pink buttons) so may get dirty in my bag but it's washable so I'm not worried at all.
