Ok so this is possibly my fault. I reached for 3 piece airlock and found this. Its actually a 2 piece. Oh well, not all bad. One downer to me is that there is no line to tell you where to fill the airlock to. Not too much of an issue as I can work that out myself to a reasonable degree of accuracy. Also I don't mind too much if it's a two or three piece. I bought this kind of airlock to be able to attach a blowoff tube during primary fermentation. This seems to be a good idea because my first brew shot some yeast kraeusen out of the airlock grommet due to pressure buildup. I will be using a blowoff this next time around. I can then simply pull the blowoff tube off, add the sanitiser and pop the cap on. Then I'm ready for the secondary fermentation to take place.

I like the idea of these, however the water bubbles out and effectively lets the air lock open.It is ok after a couple of days but it is not as effective as a tube into a bottle of starsan.

These nifty little airlocks work perfectly well, no issues at all. They arrived quickly and in perfect condition. They do the intended job very well, I would buy again if required and have no hesitation in recommending this product.

These do the job nicely and their simple design makes them easy to clean.They work well for 1 gallon (5 litre) brews. If you're doing a bigger brew, you'll need a larger airlock.
