Great stuff!
This is so easy to use even for a novice crafter like me. Its great for diorama's. I mix it with water and mix it really well and I also add a little pva glue so it adheres well to whatever you put it on. It does take about a day to dry but it depends on how thick you put it on. I usually leave it 48hrs before painting. I love it!

Perfect for creating model scenery
Delighted with the ease of use of this product and at how effective it was in building scenic landscapes. I created the basic structure with polystyrene then coated and filled with this material. Perfect results and very pleased. Don't make up too much as it goes off pretty quickly.

Sculptamold moulds
The main use for this product is apparently for making casts of faces and pregnant bellies, but is great for any modelling use. The bag contains a mix of fine fibre and plaster and only needs 1 part of water mixed with two parts sculptamold. Many do not use tools to mould the product, but fingers. However, for railway scenery, I always use artists' tools. The result does harden solidly, but tiny bits might flake off easily, probably as with any plaster product. Does not shrink or crack, and takes paint or scenery like static grass easily. Can be a little temperamental depending on the mix of water, and sculpting would need a slightly dryer mix. Can get small holes appear when dry, and very fine work may be difficult as it may be become a little lumpy - but fine for most purposes.

Easy to use.
Used for scenery work on my model railway. When mixed it has enough working time for you to mould into any shape.

Expensive but nifty
Although you can make something similar, Sculptamold is lovely stuff to mix and use. Only mix small quantities if you’re working on a model/diorama etc. Once mixed it will have a uniform white colour. Also if you like you can burnish the drying surface with something like the back of a metal spoon to get a smoother finish.

This works well
Strange substance but works really well. It has fibres added so it works best when you use your hands to smooth rather than trying to use tools. Sets quite quickly, although it takes a while to dry out completely - this maybe because I was using it in my unheated shed. Provides a good firm base like polyfilla but is much lighter. Takes acrylic paint well. Really pleased

Setting speed is variable.
First time I used this it had a going off time of about 35 mins. Bought again and it went off in about 10 mins, far to fast to sculpt. I managed to work round this with some baking soda, just a small amount made it usable. The small amount was less than a gram in a cup full of sculptamould. Mix well.
