Excellent guest bed, suitable for regular use - using since April 20115
I purchased this as a guest bed in April 2015. It has been a great, durable and comfortable investment for us! Pros: - very easy to assemble - easy to open, fold and tuck away - very comfortable for a guest bed - does not creak - lifetime frame guarantee - although I am optimistic I will not have to use it! Cons: - none! To make it extra comfortable, we added a 3" memory foam topper as we use it fairly regularly (every weekend) and at the moment continuously for 2 months. Our as our home is very small, my mother has stitched a heavy duty cover for this so we use it as a side table for lamps and decoration pieces when guests are around. Very pleased with my purchase.

It does as they claim.
I have spent a few weeks on this and it's quite comfortable. A couple of the plastic retaining clips had broken off in transit but a quick call to Jay-Be and they posted some new ones out without quibbling which arrived the next day. I understand that there needs to be some space either end of the frame when collapsed to allow the mattress to fold up. However, this means when you open it out there is a gap between the mattress and the frame. It's quite a big gap too. Either the pillow end means your pillow falls through it or the feet end which is not a problem if you are 5ft 8" or less. Unfortunately I am 6ft 2"! You can place it mid way so a small gap at both ends and it's OK ish. It would be better if they included a strip of foam to put in the gap and store that by the wheels. Anyway, its not bad and it's cheap for what it is. One last thing, watch your feet when you fold it up. the design means the whole lot suddenly drops on your toes if you are not careful as it transitions from bed to fold away wheeled contraption.

It is really light so it can be moved around really easily. I would recommend two people when moving up/down ...
Magnificent bed! It's made having guests coming so much easier. The bed is foldable with the headboard attached and rests on its wheel in the folded position allowing it to be wheeled away into a corner or into a storage space. It is really light so it can be moved around really easily. I would recommend two people when moving up/down flights of stairs. The size makes it difficult to lift alone. The mattress is the true gem of this product in my opinion. Usually memory foam mattresses provided in bundles are cheap or low quality and lose the ability to retain their shape quickly. However after a month's use, this mattress is still firm and comfortable as ever. It's actually more comfortable than my main double mattress...

Does not match the described dimensions, illustrations, or the 'luxury' description.
I ordered two and had high hopes for these beds, as the Amazon and JAY-BE website descriptions depict these as having 'luxury' memory foam. However, the beds arrived and on folding them out, the immediate problem was that the supports at the head and foot end didn't touch the ground.... this was on both beds and it wasn't that it was set up on an uneven surface. The upshot was that the beds tended to move at the slightest of touches. I thought I could live with this, as I could just put a bit of wood at one end to fill the gap and stop it moving. A bit of an initial disappointment, considering these cost £280 for the pair. However the mattress was the greatest disappointment. 'Luxury Memory foam topping' was the description!! If it is memory foam, it must be the lowest grade available that can be legally called memory foam!! It just feels like cheap, standard foam. To be honest, lying on it for 2 mins was not to bad, but the quality of the mattress is still a far cry from the words 'luxury' and 'treat yourself' in the description. The worst aspect though, was the mattress was a lot shorter than the bed frame, leaving a 3 to 4 inch gap. The photo illustration on both Amazon and JAY-Be websites show a mattress that extends right to the very extents of the bed frame with no gaps. I initially thought give the mattress time to expand from its packed state, but no change after two hours. I figured maybe this was to accommodate the mattress when folded within the frame for storage, but as you can see from the photos, the gap is still there when folded up! Hence, the mattress could be much longer with no issues when stored. So I don't know why the mattress is being made so small...... a manufacturing mistake maybe??? This means the bed only has a mattress that is 176cm long when JAY-BE describe it as 182cm, with the outside bed measurements being 192cm. Unfortunately, everyone of my relatives is marginally over that height, and I think it would be unfair to provide a bed for guests where there feet hang off, or their pillow gradually disappears down down a hole overnight. It shouldn't be too difficult to supply a mattress that fits the bed, especially as this is a highly important aspect of a bed's comfort, and this mattress is described as 'luxury' memory foam with a £140 price tag for the whole bed. Hence, I will be returning this product within 3 hours of it arriving, as is a far cry from the description and poor value for the £140 price tag.

Slats broken
I bought this bed for my 15 year old grandson in March 2018. It was very comfortable and he was happy with it, sleeping very well. He is not a big boy, having a slight frame. By August 2018 two of the slats snapped rendering the bed uncomfortable and useless. I am now looking for replacement slats.

Needs to be used 'mindfully'
I bought this Jaybe bed about 6 months ago, because I wanted to create more space in my bedroom for exercise and stuff. I’m fairly short 5’7”, about 80Kg. I’ve used this bed as a primary sleeping facility, not as a stand-by. Here are my observations: The frame itself is robust and stable, never had a problem with weakness or tipping so top marks there. However, the slats and the mattress are a different story. I’ve broken at least three slats simply by either sitting down on the bed too quickly or shifting in the bed. My recommendation is to use heavy duty duct tape (e.g. a well-known large primate brand) to reinforce the slats. Lie a strip of tape along the top of each slat, end to end. So far none of the slats I’ve reinforced in this manner have broken (touch wood!!). I’ve also been in contact with a bed slat supplier (easily found on google) to have replacement slats delivered. This brings me to another point, replacing slats. The slats are retained using plastic holders, which sit on the top of the frame. Each holder attaches to the frame using two plastic split-pins. If you’re strong enough you can bend a slat sufficiently to get it to fit into the holders, however if you get non-Jaybe slats, these can be much stiffer, bending them to fit, far harder. A much easier way is to use a pair of long-nose pliers to carefully squeeze and pull out the pins thereby enabling you to remove one of the holders and slot the slat in easily. Now the final item, the mattress. Jaybe claims the bed offers ‘innovative comfort with the luxury of a memory foam mattress’. This, to put it mildly, is something of an exaggeration. The mattress may be luxurious if you’re used to sleeping on planks, but to the average bed user it is sub-par. Fair enough, they have had to compromise due to the folding nature of the bed, so obviously a thin flexible mattress is required. But to describe it as luxurious should be raising the eyebrows of our friends at the advertising standards authority. The mattress is light and about 3 inches thick, it is quite comfy given its rather anorexic characteristics, but luxurious? I think not. The other thing I found is that after six months of continuous use it shifts from being memory foam to distorted foam, with the weightiest parts of the body creating permanent indentations. Maybe it becomes long-term memory foam, who knows.

Happy
Arrived next day. It was easy to put together and included the tools. Took about 5 minutes on my own. Runs around on easy 360 degree castors. Seems to be comfortable according to the wife. One small problem was the headboard had a chip on 1 corner. I emailed Jay-Be and a replacement is winging its' way to me. The Memory foam mattress looks and feels good and comes nicely wrapped. The mattress does have a nice neutral cover with a giant zip so the cover can be washed.

Bed frame is good, however, the mattress is not the best
I rate it as 4 because Bed frame is good, however, the mattress is not the best. The part where the bed is folded, the mattress is malformed in shape and is not very comfortable to sleep and actually thats the part right in the middle of the mattress where the bed folds up. We got the model with the Memory Foam mattress. It is a very light mattress too. However, the bed frame is very sturdy and easy to fold up or open it and the lock up mechanism is good too. Overall a good buy, but eventually may have to replace with a better mattress.
