Great Iron
Don't be put off by some of the negative reviews here. This is one of the best irons i've owned and works fantastic. It's surface is more than hot enough for all my needs and glides across clothes with ease. The steam generation is excellent. It's stable when standing upright and has a good weight to it.

a good reliable iron
works well but if you live in a hard water area make sure you use the water as recommended in the manual to avoid limescale build up. great design, comfortable and irons fabrics pretty quick.

Good iron and easy to use
This is a good looking iron which does a great job at ironing cloths. The steam section is good and it does not catch on to non pure fabrics. However, I do feel that one has to go over cotton quite slowly for it to take the creases out and for this reason a higher temperature would have gone a long way.

Decent weight and efficient easy ironing
This iron is a good weight, really smooth ironing surface. The trigger under the handle for the steam is much more user friendly than any of my previous irons, and the two steam settings work well. I’ve only used it a few times, but the calc collector seems to be working okay, I’m in a very hard water area and usually get a lot of sediment coming out when I use steam. It heats up really quickly and is quite quiet - my old model was very loud on the steam shot. It has a decent water reservoir too at 350ml. Would definitely recommend, it is worth the money.

Leaks, poor quality for price
This iron worked ok for the first few months but always leaked, after a year the steam stopped completely (even with using ionised water and the clean function regularly) the only way to get it to work with steam was to use the extra steam function. It also was constantly leaving white marks on cloths. Now after a year and a half the leaking has got out of control and water is constantly poring out by the power cable, I have had to stop using it for fear of getting electrocuted. For a relatively expensive iron this is really poor quality and I would not recommend.

Great Iron
Hate when appliances break and having to research your next purchase. Read good reviews off various site so took the gamble and purchased it cheaper here on Amazon. This iron has not disappointed. Irons with ease. Nice pointed shape which i like for making ironing easier for awkward shaped clothing. Great sized water tank and long cable.

Brilliant steaming performance and excellent altogether, but with a short lifespan.
The steaming and ironing part of it was excellent, it did its job with no problems for a bit, then started presenting minor faults, leading to full failure.Problems started with the iron leaving water marks within a few weeks from purchase, then shortly after that, it started leaking water from the top of the dial when it was sat upright. And lately it started making funny noises (Similar to a kettle boiling) despite regular descaling and following the instructions.Eventually failed approximately a year and a half after purchase (Moderate/casual use). It just died, no tripped fuses, no fuss, just died quietly and peacefully.I am buying another Philips however, hopefully with a longer lifespan this time.

Good iron, bad packaging.
Works great but I don't think I actually received a new item. The iron was delivered in it's original box without any packaging or seals. The box itself looked like it had been opened and hastily unpacked and appeared quite worn around the edges. The instruction manual had a tear in the cover and the plastic protection over the iron was half on/half off. I feel like this was a returned item that was sent back out, but I paid for a brand new one. The condition of the packaging surprised me considering it's being sold by Amazon and not a third party. I tried it out today and it seems to work perfectly, hence the four stars. The iron itself is great. It has a nice weight to it, but it's not too heavy and it glides across every garment with ease. Very happy with it.
