I picked up the Dymo S0717930 Omega Home Embossing Label Maker for my wife last year, and let me tell you, it was a game changer! She had this vision of labeling all our jars in the kitchen, and this little gadget made that dream come true.From the moment she unboxed it, I could see her excitement. I have to say to start off my review "this labeller is not brilliant", however, could I temper that statement with a comment of "what can one expect for £8.99' (as at 3rd September 2015). Labellers are a bit like computer printers; there is no profit to be made in the printer, rather the profit is really generated through the requirement of the user to purchase tape.I purchased mine to produce labels for boxes for a franchise option I have just purchased. The labeller produces adequate labels for my needs and whilst these labels are nowhere near the quality I was able to achieve with a labeller costing 10 times the price, with tapes costing far more, this item is adequate for my needs and at the discounted price offered by Amazon, reflects in my mind, good value.Producing labels does take time, however, for my use in a very small business, for one off labels, it is ideal. The labels are a throw back 20 years, where labels are simply embossed and the plastic in the tape turns white.RECOMMENDED

I bought this label maker as I am a fan of organisation and all things retro, and wanted a cool solution to help organise our various kitchen spices etc.The maker comes with a reel of white on black labels, which is still going strong after labelling an entire spice rack and food cupboards, which look great (in my opinion!).Easy to use straight out of the box, my wife and I spend a whole evening hunting things out to label!For the cost and the effect this maker is excellent, it now lives in one of our kitchen cupboards, we have also labelled our key rack and various storage tins in the kitchen.My only minor niggle is that occasionally if you don’t press hard enough, the labels don’t cut cleanly (probably only happens 1 in 10 labels – and always when I’m not concentrating properly). And a similar other niggle is that sometimes the first letter of a label can come out cut off for no apparent reason (again probably 1 in 10 – but this happens even when I am concentrating). If it weren’t for these two niggles this product would be 5 stars, however do not let you put that off, it’s a label making solution that I am pleased to own and would recommend.

I love my little simple Dymo machine. Ok, it has a few issues- like sometimes slipping out of sync and needing to be "fixed" but all you have to do is figure out how much it is out by, and hold the underside dial while adjusting the top. Its an easy fix. Also, sometimes the odd letter won't print properly. I find doing a few of that particular affected letter in a row fixes that- not sure why. But yes, overall it works well and is a reliable label maker. The spacing between the letters can be a bit much at times, but I think it adds to the labels charm. I have used my label maker on just about everything in my house, from my filing cabinet, to my spice jars, and i can't say I'm finished yet. I also regularly use it with crafting and scrapbooking, so there is loads to do with it, and the variety of pretty refills you can buy. If this truly broke and I was unable to fix it (doubtful due to its simplicity, but still) I would definitely buy another one.

I bought the Dymo S0717930 Omega Home Embossing Label Maker for £13.06 and found it fairly simple and old-school but effective for basic labelling at home. The turn-and-click system is easy to use, and the soft grip handle makes it comfortable enough.It comes with a decent set of characters and 9mm tape in different colours, which is handy. The labels are clear and readable, though it’s quite manual and a bit slow compared to modern label printers. For the price, especially with Prime delivery and returns, it’s decent value for simple use.

I bought the Dymo Omega to label the hard disk drives in my home server. At first it worked pretty well. The mechanism didn't feel very precise and sometimes a letter, symbol, space or cut wouldn't go through properly. For every successful label there was a duff one.In all I labelled ten HDD's. The labels consisted of a space followed by six alphanumeric symbols followed by another space. In all I've probably made fifteen labels max but that's out of around fifty attempts.Having had the label maker in a draw for a couple of months. today I tried to make a label for a new HDD and the Omega just won't work. About one in twenty inputs go through without a problem. The other nineteen result in an unusable label that's consigned to the bin. To cap it off, amazon only accept returns on this item if it's within a month after purchase.This is my first label maker and I've found it very useful, so I'm gonna do what I should have done in the first place and get a decent quality one. The Omega? Well, money for old rope comes to mind.[EDIT]I've been playing around with the Omega and I've found that if you open the cartridge compartment, unspool the cartridge a little and then push the tape as you input a symbol, label making becomes much more reliable but much fiddlier. It's kind of hard to explain the exact techinque but if you hold the tape gently whilst imputing a symbol, when it works correctly you'll feel the tape being pulled into the mechanism. This is what you're trying to replicate manually when you push the tape into the mechanism. I suspect this highlights the root cause of my problems... The Omega can't reliably feed the tape through the mechanism.

Bought as a gift for my organisation obsessed mum. She loves it, it prints really well and sticks great to most items, and can be removed easily too, leaving no residue. Super easy to set up and great value for money, the refills are also quite cheap it buy too

I've rated this item 3 stars but don't let that put you off buying it if you're willing to compromise quality for economy. It's pretty cheaply built & is a little frustrating to use, with fairly frequent glitches. I was aware of this when I ordered it & figured it was adequate for my needs & at a price I could accept, as I really only needed to use it one time to organize my workshop & only occasionally after that. You get what you pay for!In its defence, the labels that do come out (I'd estimate 70%) look nice. With a little practice, it's possible to understand its quirks and compensate for them. I can definitely see it breaking given sustained use, so I'd only recommend for occasional use, definately not for business.I chose this as there was little choice. Cheap or expensive. Shame there isn't a £20 option built a little more robustly. This one does feel very flimsy & I think those loose tollerances are part of its reliability issue. It also eats through the tape very quickly (as I'm sure even expensive ones do) so be sure to order refils at the same time if you have a lot of labels to make!

Contras:- Bei manchen scheint das Gerät nach einiger Benutzung den Geist aufzugeben. Ich selbst drehe wie ein Wilder an dem Stempel und es ist noch nichst kaputt gegangen. Ich glaube aber bei noch gröberer Behandlung wird das Plastik sicherlich nachgeben- Man muss echt viel drehen um ein Label fertig zu drucken, der Retro-Look verlangt harte Arbeit :)Pros:- Der Retro-Look ist so wie Ich ihn mir gedacht habe. Mit mehr Farben kann man da bestimmt viel Spaß haben- Die Labels sind sehr robust, anders als die ausgegdruckten von ähnlichen Produkten. Jedoch sollte man seine Marmeladengläser selber aufbekommen, damit die Buchstaben lesbar werden. Wenn die Labels jedoch mal auf einer Fläche kleben, halten sie dort bombenfest. Scheinen sogar Spülmaschienenfest zu sein- Ich kann den Dymo Omega über seinen kleine Bruder nur empfehlen. Zwar sind die gedruckten Zeichen etwas weiter auseinander (was für mich fast ein Grund war ihn nicht zu kaufen), aber der extra Zeichensatz lohnt sich allemalAlles in Allem find Ich ist es das perfekte Geräte das man in der Abstellkammer verstauen kann um ab und zu mal fix ein colles Label zu erstellen. Für Vielbeschrifter würde Ich aber dann aber doch eher davon abraten, ausser der Retro-Look ist es ihnen wert

This maker is awesome! I've managed to label everything in my house, a few things in my neighbours backyard and more! Works really well, and is so much fun for the price.

Ik heb dit ding nodig om mijn naam op gereedschap te zetten en het apparaat doet wat het moet doen zodra je weet hoe deze werkt (zorg er voor dat de onderste en bovenste print ring gelijk staan, de schaar is het beste uitgangspunt.
