Scratched the air vent. I would not recommend
My initial review was 4 stars " Works great, the ball joint doesn't feel like the best quality when you tighten it.However once you have tightened it, it doesn't move"However this has to change to 1 star as it scratched the air vent.I have had it a 4 months, I don't take it off that often, however the rubber grips have split and the metal poked through.See the photos

Well made clamp, with some caveats...
EDIT: So, I could've sworn I updated this review months ago, but for some reason it isn't showing. Basically, after being contacted by Anker support regarding my review, they offered some advice that helped me get better use out of my phone holder. It seems that there are two different ways that the rubber end can connect to your air vent, one of which gives a tighter connection. After playing about with the holder, I was able to get a much better connection and as a result, my phone doesn't go flying now, so I've updated my rating (which also includes a star for Anker support too).I've left the original review in for posterity below.=================================Not sure if its the combination of my phone (Oneplus 3) and my car (Audi A5), but this doesn't seem to attach very well to the air vents on my dashboard. Not sure if they phone is too heavy, or the vents aren't stiff enough for the unit to sit properly whilst I'm driving. The clamp itself is fine - it adjusts well to the width of my handset - but it works its way loose from the vent as I'm driving (the state of the roads around here probably doesn't help...) and before I know it, I've gone round a corner and the clamp and phone have flown across the car and out of reach.I've scored the clamp as 3 stars, as it is well made and I guess if you had a smaller, lighter handset it would work well. But I think I may need to find a better, more permanent solution that'll work for me.

Flawed phone mount that I definitely won't buy again... (review updated)
***SEE END FOR UPDATED REVIEW***Pretty good vent mount. I drive a 64 plate Mondeo estate have a Galaxy S7 with a Spigen tough case that fits well in the holder, the angled mount means I can get a really good position for the phone despite the vents in my car being on an angle the grip is good and on the vent fins and I can see no sign of damage\wear so all good on that front. my only issues are that the mount can be a bit floppy when clipping the phone in and out (due to movement of the vents) but I'd happily buy it again Especially if there was a version that could do wireless charging :)*** Update***I have bought two of these, one for my son, and one for myself and since writing this review have had to replace one of these and simply returned the other for a refund. as you can see I was extremely happy with them, however, I believe that they have a bit of a design flaw with the rubber covering the metal grip being prone to splitting in the case of my sons this happened within a month of getting it this led to his phone flying across the car and being damaged.Amazon and Anker customer service has been great however the product is fatally flawed and unfortunately its back to looking for a new vent mount for my phone :(

Great Story
A while ago I ordered 2 Anker Phone Holders to be able to use google maps more elegantly than throwing my phone on the passenger seat of the car. When the package arrived the first thing I did was putting my phone in it and mounting it in the car. At first everything was fine the Holder had a firm grip on my phone and it sat nice and secure on the AC vent. But when I started driving around I noticed that my phone didn’t look secure anymore as I drove. The movements of the car when turning and going over bumps in the road were causing the holder to slide off of the AC vent dropping my phone in the process.I decided to share this event by writing a review on amazon describing my situation. The following day I had an email from Anker politely explaining to me that I mounted the Holder wrongly in my car and apparently the Holder has two orientations one for thick AC vents and one for slimmer ones and mine are too slim for the “thick option”.I have used the Holder correctly ever since and haven’t had any issues anymore.Anker also offered to send me their magnetic Phone Holder for me to try and see if that one is better suited for my needs. I will write a review about this one once I have had the time to try I out properly. To conclude this review I will list the pro’s and con’s of the Anker Phone Holder.Pro’s:• Not expensive• The orientation of the phone can be switched ( left to right, up/ down and horizontal/vertical)• The brand is trustworthy and has great customer service• It fits all phones• It fits all carsCon’s:• No con’s to be mentioned my only complaint was addressed and resolved as told in the story above.

Good but not great (for me atleast)
UPDATE: The customer service i received after leaving the below review, has been more than brilliant. Anker provided me with a new phone holder, more suited to my type of car completely free of charge which is more than i could've asked for. Cannot recommend Anker enough for the brilliant products and customer service they provide.I'd say for the price it's alright. However, it is pretty hard to get your phone in and out of (although that does mean there's little risk of your phone falling out) and the rubber bits that grip onto the vents, did start to slide slightly and i can imagine after a while of road vibration, that it might slip out of the vent.In all fairness to it though, i drive a seat ibiza which does have slightly odd vents, whereas maybe in another car, it may be able to grip easier
