Hi I have noticed that many people are complaining about this lovely little shovel going rusty very quickly. Is this very common?

I’ve had this spade for just over 12 months and it’s got a little discolouration but nothing too bad .I admit to not using it every day but I would suggest cleaning it and storing in the dry after use , it’s a mild steel spade costing £13.00 ! If you don’t want your spade to rust buy a stainless steel one .

Is this shovel very heavy

I am 70 and 5’ 2” and don’t consider it to be heavy.

What is the size of the blade

It is 20 cm long and 14 cm at its widest.

Is it heavy ? Can it be used by a nine year old as a beach spade ?

Its a bit heavy duty rather than heavy. Not suitable for the beach!
