SQ Professional Stainless Steel Rice Cooker 0.8L 350W Silver

This is really great. Still use it to this day and we purchased this 5 years ago. The quality is always really good, it doesn’t take too long and you can add seasonings and spices before cooking which add great flavour. Haven’t had any burnt rice, no bad smells, it doesn’t take up too much room in the kitchen, is easy to use and has a function to keep the rice warm if the rest of your food isn’t ready to serve yet. Also, it’s so easy to clean and comes with a spoon to scoop the rice out with. Highly recommend!

I have only used this rice cooker a few times and so far I am pleased with it. It takes a bit of tweaking to get right (as the instructions are useless!) but I have found 2 cups of water to one cup of Basmati rice makes perfect, fluffy rice that has just the right amount of stickiness that you could use chopsticks. I haven’t had any issue with burning or leaking - but I have been monitoring it while cooking so I can adjust accordingly. It is also a great size for me as I am only cooking for 2 people, and I wanted something compact. I recommend this as an affordable rice cooker, just don’t leave it unattended.

They write in such flowery terms about this product that you might think you are reading an M&S advert... The product is good, but it's no better than any other rice cooker because they are all essentially the same thing with very little to discern them. I bought this one because my last one had a 2 cup minimum, even 1 cup is often slightly to much for 2 people and the maximum is enough for a small dinner party. I would recommend rice cookers generally and I recommend this one because it is sensibly priced and had the smallest minimum capacity I could find (1/2 a cup minimum would have been perfect). But don't buy it because you are convinced by the ornate product description, this is just a rice cooker and it functions in exactly the same way as every other rice cooker. Your rice will not be better or worse for using a different rice cooker, but rice cooked in a rice cooker is easier and often better (fewer mistakes made) than pot boiled rice. It is easy to clean, and it is easy to use, same as every other rice cooker.

I made a mistake buying this as it only cooks a serving for two people if your lucky. I usually cook for at least 4 people and I add other things to the rice which then only brings it down to two servings if your lucky. I would say it is very useful for one person living alone but not for a family or for anyone wanting to make a few meals to cook and then keep in the fridge/freezer. The picture in no way reflects the true size and if they seller just put the word small in the write up at point of sale it would have been a much more informative choice for the buyer. I like the cook and warm feature but that is about it.
