Jacquard Lumiere Paint Burgundy 2.25Oz

I am thoroughly enjoying using this paint, it is giving me the desired effect I was hoping for. I've seen some reviews saying it is so thin/coverage isn't great ect. Almost all metallic paints will be transparent to a point, especially if spread out thinly, try using a darker acrylic basecoat first. In my painting, I've used a medium brown undercoat & only one coat of the Lumiere Gold, working it in small sections, with the brush strokes going in different directions. In the video I've included, this is one coat, again, smaller section & a good even layer will give you the ultimate effect & really, it dries so fast so working on smaller sections is the way to go. I've barely used anything from my pot for the amount of coverage I have on that canvas, I'd say this is well worth the price & this pot will last me a good while. This paint also mixes really well with other acrylic colours to give a soft metallic sheen. I hope you find this review helpful.

I love this gold paint. Good consistency, beautiful gold colour, covers well and dries relatively quick. Not cheap but worth every penny

The colour of this paint is beautiful, reminiscent of a scarab beetle. I have knocked off one star as it has started to look more green as it has dried rather than the initial blue green it was when wet. I used it to stencil ferns on to an old ottoman that I had painted first with chalk paint and the colour went on smoothly and easily. This is a lovely paint and I will definitely buy other colours in this range.

Good gold paint and colour

This small jar goes a long way. The coverage is reasonably good and the colour is a nice pearlescent shade. The density of the colour can be built up by applying several coats. You can also achieve different results by applying it over different base colours. For example, if you apply it over black, it gives a very antique brass colour, but if you apply it over white, it gives a much warmer golden colour. The price point is reasonable. I have used it on a light fitting, and it has covered fairly well although it took several Coats to provide coverage.

This is not as it appears . Its a very saturated light colour compared to the picture . I have the old paint and at the top is the new paint. In the pictures advertised it looks more crimson red. As you can see , it's more sparkling gold . Only good thing is it goes on well .

Here's a pic to show the difference between this and Rustins. The thing in my hand was painted with Rustins and is a dull off-browny beige colour. The tip of the floral whatsit is painted with this. Both are three coats, no primer. This paint is MUCH nicer looking! I would highly recommend if you're looking for a nice shimmery gold paint as it looks really good. I can imagine it being nice for all sorts of crafty decorative stuff. It'll probably look great on wood too if you protect it with a good varnish. However.. if like me you're looking for something to paint metal with, this probably isn't the right one for you. Yes it looks lovely but it's acrylic so is soft and rubbery and that's not great on a medium as tough as metal. If you wanted to sand out brush strokes for example it will ball up and peel off, so that's not great. That's not to say this is bad paint, it's just the wrong type! My hunt for a decent gold metal paint continues but this is a really great looking acrylic if that's what you're looking for. I will definitely keep it for other projects. TL;DR: Much nicer than Rustins for wood and crafty stuff

What a beautiful color and really easy to work with paint! It's smooth and dries relatively fast, moves with the fabric and works with so many different materials. Can't wait to try out the other colors 😍
