**Q: does this product need batteries**
A: No, already has batteries in and I am not sure you can change them either. We threw our pens away as the shock was a bit strong and nasty for a younger child (just to warn you)

**Q: What size battery does it need ? The one I've bought didn't come with instructions re battery size**
A: I am not too sure but it is very small circular batteries but they last for a long time

**Q: Should I buy this item**
A: Not worth the any price. I bought this item for my daughter when it arrived it was broken. As I paid peanuts for it I did not bother seeking a refund.

A: you push the top of the pen down and it delivers a shock, the pen can be exposed by twisting the bottom

Had the best fun at work with this. made everyone sign a card going around for my friends new baby with it and got everyone with it. it is a bit fragile after people drop it from the shock but totally worth the money. will be getting another one just as i broke it by sitting on it.

I ordered one of these pens to trick my grandson. It arrived, I removed it from the packaging and was immediately unimpressed with its very low quality. I pressed the part which causes the ball point to protrude, expecting to receive a gentle shock. Nothing! I have received more of a shock when tickled with a feather. I examined the “pen” closely, being a graduate electrical engineer. The pen lacks substance and is flimsy. It is not fit for purpose. Avoid.

It does work however it seems very brittle and i ordered 2 and the other one didn't work at all. This is a good little toy and it gives a small electic shock however be warned this is very brittle and flimsy however what can you really expect for such a small price.
