Lovely fountain spray in full sun!
Ordered the Anself 1.8Watt Solar Power Water Pump Garden Fountain to replace one I had stupidly broken. This is a lovely fountain which works well in direct sunlight, and partially in slightly lesser sunlight but not at all in cloud cover. This does not have a storage battery so only works in sunshine which is what I wanted. The pump arrives with various fountain fittings to regulate the height and spread of the water which can rise quite a lot in full sun! I placed the fountain in the well of a pebble pool filled with water and enjoy the display in the sunshine. The downsides of this pump are the lack of a stake or anyway to attach the solar panel to anything. Unless you can position the panel in a place that receives full sun all day, it will need to be moved to follow the sun for the fountain to work. Worth noting that the pump MUST be under water for it to work correctly and the motor WILL burn out if it is left running out of water for any length of time (says one who stupidly forgot to check the water level on the last pump!)On the plus side, it is easy to turn the solar panel over so the fountain does not work when you are not in the garden to enjoy it and prevent the water well running dry! This is a lovely feature which would benefit from those with a bit more knowhow than me to set up the the pebble pool and the fountain so the water drained back into the pool instead of watering the garden! I have seen lots of these at double and treble the price so this one is very reasonably priced!

Small but works
Good value , much smaller than I had expected but works well in our animal trough water feature. Beware, I initially thought had bits missing as so tiny and bits caught inside other bits, and no assembly instructions or parts list. It also only works when the sun is out not when overcast. If you want a permanently daytime functioning fountain in any weather this is not for you.

Packed up after two months
Was easy to install, all the necessary connectors fitted well. Worked well for six weeks then became erratic, eventually not starting at all and had to be prodded to get it going. When the sun stopped shining it stopped and wouldn't start again. This in full sunlight, clear blue skies, no shading or obstructions, solar panel correctly aligned so it should have worked and, as I said above, it had worked correctly previously. A cheap alternative replacement to the original solar pump which had lasted several years and after two months it's out of Amazon's return window. Not worth the money! Pity I can't give zero stars for 'Overall rating' or 'Value for money'.

However I am very pleased with it
You do get what you've paid for with this small pump. However I am very pleased with it. It delivers a 60cm high jet using the small nozzle in my garden pond. It will only work satisfactorily in bright sunlight. Where others have said it pulses, this may be due to poor sunlight. There will be no spray in cloudy conditions. The pump did stop working after 5 days. I connect it to a transformer which kick-started the pump, so it may have had some debris in it. For the price it's a good little product. I will buy another one for the other side of my pond.. One good thing is that it seems to reduce the blanket weed due to the aeration effect of the fountain. UPDATE - the pump hasn't failed since which may be due to the filter that I fitted. This cost £1 and is a plastic mesh pot scourer looped over the pump.

Only works in full sun
Works well in full sun. If a cloud passes over it stops.would be good in a country that gets a lot ofclear sky all day. Not for England as it doesn't store energy. Also no fixing spikes so has to lay on the ground.

Good pump, works well in sunshine
The pump works well provided the sun is reasonably bright (as is made clear in the instructions) and the relatively large solar panel does mean it works in slightly hazy sunshine (at least in mid-summer). I bought this pump for a water feature to replace the original which appeared to have failed - it would not work again after its winter break, being left out of water in my shed. I have now got the original pump to work again after giving it a bit of an internal clean to remove hard water scale. My advice is to only use rain water to fill water features if you live in a hard water area to prevent the pump from gradually scaling up but they can be rescued if you get access to the blades and clean them.

douself 1.8Watt Solar Power Water Pump Garden - surprisingly good
I wasn't expecting a great deal from this for the price, but thought it would be enough to add a bit of air to my pond by stirring the surface a bit. I was very surprised at how well it worked, producing a head of 18-24 inches (depending on the nozzle) even in waning September sunshine. It even stirs to limited life in hazy conditions. The pump is surprisingly small and it really needs to be positioned so that the top of the fountain head is just above the water level to work best. In my case this was, handily, on top of an aquatic basket, angled towards the centre of the pond so it did not lose pond water.I have deducted a star as there is no support supplied for the solar cell, nor any holes for mounting it and it seems quite fragile and could be prone to damage by local cats, foxes or squirrels. I have got around this by cutting a rectangle in a piece of ply to hold the collector and screwed this to a couple of legs which makes it much more stable and raises it for maximum exposure to sunlight. In short - does the job well for such a low price.
