No mess and good quality
I've been buying bucktons wild bird food for many years but recently picked up a bag in my local shop of Johnston and Jeff. This is far superior to the bucktons which when you compare side by side has more sunflower seeds and so much less powdery chaff. The birds love it, my chucks and ducks love it and there is so much less mess.

Excellent bird food
In my opinion the last thing you want to feed wild birds is a seed that's been so denatured that it won't actually sprout - this will sprout, so you might want to think about that. Though as I said I think of this as a huge positive. I dread to think what they do to the other stuff, and what that process or any chemicals they use then does to our feathered friends!I have quite a few bird feeders so always like to buy in bulk. This is a good quality seed at a sensible price, and very popular, given how many times I have to refill the feeders!I recommend checking the bag on delivery as I've had the bags delivered split - on one occasion having lost a considerable amount of seed in a trail from the van to the front door.

Selected Wild Bird Seed
Depending on who (which shop), is providing this seed then usually it is a very quick delivery. Sometimes it comes a day earlier than expected which can be great, as long as you are in. I am aware that this can happen, so make provisions. Anyway, the bird seed is excellent (the birdies tell me so). They scoff it down and I usually have to order about every month. I really don't mind which bird comes to my garden Restaurant, all are welcome. The local crow, magpie, blackbird, sparrow, blue tit, and yes, even the pigeons and wood pigeons. They are welcome too. They clean up all the wheat and bits that the other birds turn their noses up at. This seed is top quality and very good value. Plus I now get it delivered free. I used to get my seed from Haith's which was great but it was extremely expensive with delivery on top. This seed is so much cheaper especially with the offers and discounts. Thank you Johnson & Jeff's and all the wonderful shops providing a good service to us and our birdie friends.
