Worth the money
Using the 1000W heater my 110 gal aquarium for a few weeks and it works great. I do recommend keeping a separate thermometer. As with other reviews, the thermometer on my heater is off by +2 degrees. I don’t mind though. It keeps the water temp regulated within 1 degree. The digital gauge makes it easy to set the temp without having to guess. Overall, definitely recommend and would buy again.

Great heater
This is an amazing heater, super easy to use and very accurate with its digital screen. This product unfortunately did stop working for me after a year of use. I did reach out to Hygger and after a couple of back-and-forth emails Hygger did send me a replacement. The customer support was amazing and they stand behind their product. I will continue to buy other Hygger heaters as I set up new aquariums.Thank you Hygger team

Life saver for my tank!
Had an older glass heater go out and my tank dropped from 80 to 68. We purchased a Fluval from petsmart after driving 2 hours to the nearest store on a sunday. It was a 300W heater and rated for my 75G tank, however it never was able to get higher than 74.5 degrees. I ordered this heater because they didn't have a larger one at petsmart and it came in 2 days. it was able to get the tank up to 80 in just a few hours. I like that the gage is easy to read and has a ring that alerts you to the temp conditions as it's heating up. Even displays the watts it's using. The temp on the gage and my tank thermometer are within a couple of points of each other. This thing is working flawlessly and looks great as well. Hoping to return the Fluval as there's obviously an issue with its temp calibration.

Failed too soon (update)
Bought this in July 2023. Failed in January 2024. At first, I was very pleased with this 1000-watt heater. Performed as advertised. I bought it to use in a 105-gallon saltwater mixing tank. Heated the water quickly and maintained the temperature very well. Then about 2 weeks ago, I noticed my water getting too warm, and occasionally, the high temp alarm sounding. Now the heater continuously shows "LL", and the heater never shuts off. I thought I was so impressed with this heater that I bought a second one in October 2023 for my hospital tank. I will certainly be keeping very close tabs on this one so as not to cook any expensive fish. I will write a new review on the second heater accordingly. So far so good on the second heater. I must say that Hygger reached out to me and offered me a replacement or full refund. As such, I will upgrade my review to four stars for customer service alone. Hopefully this was an anomaly and my second heater will continue working as advertised.

So far this has been perfect.
It's supper easy to use. Very plug and play. I had read the reviews and seen a lot saying it was off 2 or 3 degrees but could test water and then set it accordingly. When I showed up I used 3 different digital thermometers and one manual mercury. All the digital had the same reading as the heater. And the manual was one degrees lower or less. Hard to tell if was .5 or 1.0.I ran a hot fire last and my tank was getting to hot as they are in the same room and I could see it's temperature going up..... it got to 82 before I had to start cooling the tank. When it drops down under the set temp it kicks on to 500ish wats and heats the tank rather quickly to 79.Cons....I tried to set it horizontal and it started to alarm out almost instantly. The temperature read 98° almost instantly. I wanted to hide this behind rocks in the main tank instead of the sump. Stuck to the back wall sideways it would misread and alarm. Bummer as it would need to be sideways in my sump if I put it there also. Not enough to doc a star but disappointed. Also control cable is a little short. Not bad but it would be a little convenient if had another 12"In the end I believe most of the bad reviews of melting are user created. Like left on or removed from water before it had cooled.

They stand behind their products!
I purchased this heater for a new tank we called “the works” canister filter, custom acrylic tank, programable led lighting (also from hygger) tho whole nine yards and its led controller looked to be the Cadillac of heaters! And it is!However after about two months of use it would not work and the alarm for out of water would not turn off. We were extremely disappointed as it went with our tank perfectly. We decided to reach out to hygger as their other products have been amazing. We were not disapointed, they worked with us responding rapidly and provided a new filter at no charge amazing customer support from an over seas niche company. I would not hesitate to purchase any hygger item especially now having dealt with their outstanding customer service

Edit: it works after all
Edit: I need to correct my original review due to user error (doh!). I had placed the heater horizontal behind a plant to hide its ugliness. Once I repositioned it vertically and placed it closer to the filter output, it worked accurately. Seems to be maintaining the temps reasonably well. But, it's still ugly so only 3 stars.I bought this February 4 2025 as a spare to have on hand as my current heaters were getting up there in age and I didn't want to get empty handed if one suddenly died. Today, one of my heaters did die so I plugged this one in to replace it. What a cheap piece of crap. It has no clue what the temperature really is in the aquarium. Besides that, it's f-ing ugly with it's big orange band around the unit and it's giant hygger logo on the front. I tried to hide it behind a plant but it's still super obvious. Sadly I just passed the 30-day mark so there's no returning it now. Wish me luck with their customer service dept.
