it works as per engineered
Use it to shave or trim my facial hair once or twice a week. Excellent quality. Dry clean it. bit of acetone to clean it, and use a thin oil like a drop of vegetable oil to lub the blade. Charge gets me 4 shaves.just maintain it properly it will last

Excellent for this price
The price makes all the difference. This is virtually disposable. So you can ignore the tacky silver finish and the Xmas-cracker accessories, the cheapo stand that only sort-of holds the accessories in place. What surprised me was the sturdy cutting head that feels much more professional than the Babyliss I had before that was useless and failed after a few months. This Wahl works much better. Once I'd figured out for myself how to attach the adjustable head (the microscopic multi-language instructions are useless), I realised that it does a pretty efficient job. I haven't tried the other attachments yet since getting them on and off is no pleasure and they're so flimsy-feeling they are almost certain to snap if you do it too often. Well, maybe not. Who knows?Oh, and you get a tiny bottle of oil for the blades, which is a nice touch. This fits into its own slot in the stand.I doubt this would stand up to power clipping or hair cutting, but for a bit of detail tidying up, I reckon this works well and is great value. I do wonder how long the attachments will last though. (UPDATE OCT 2014: this must be sturdier than I thought because it's still intact and working perfectly after more than three years. Definitely a good buy.)

Not bad overall
Being cheap ( not after postage ), I wasn’t expecting precision engineering, nevertheless it cuts well, once you strip it apart and fettle it a bit as was in my case.It needs an overnight charge and can be left in charge 24/7.I’ve only given it 3 stars as despite following the instruction and oiling it, it just struggled to work when not under load. It’s s very simple fix, I did expect more from WHAL.

Great
A brand Ive used before it has many accessories as mentioned in other reviews very loud so the house at night if used then will no what your up to!. Its also abit sharp so be careful of that I think that's will subside with use over all I would recommend just be aware of what I mentioned.

Poor quality don't waste your money
I purchased this because it was cheap and available quickly. This was a mistake on my part. The trimmer is exactly as I thought CHEAP you would be much better off going with a known brand such as Philips or Rimington ect. I was under the impression Wahl was a name brand, but I have a feeling I was wrong.I have owned this trimmer for over a year now and use it probably once every couple of months at the most. After the first use I charged the trimmer and when I next went to ise it, the trimmer was dead! So I charged it up overnight and used the next day then placed back on charge overnight before storing. A few days later I decided to check the battery and sure enough it was dead again!!! Its at this point I should have returned the item but as I use it quite infrequently I didn't bother. Since discovering the battery issue I jave basically had to charge it the day before I want to ise it every time.Aside from the huge battery issue which could indeed be a one off, the cut is pretty poor. It can't handle thicker beard hair and misses lots and lots of hair meaning you need to make many many passes to get a clean cut and even then you will probably find some that have been missed. The way the plastic tat attaches to the end to alter the length is also pretty poor and can fairly easily fall offI paid about £12 for this on offer, I think its barely worth half that, and in fact it won't operate at all anymore so jave now purchased a Philips unit that wasn't that much more but is on a different level entirely. No more pointy on/off switch digging into my thumb while having to make a million passes!

Decent for the money and plenty of adjustment options.
Bought this tinkering with abit of 'growth' want to balance a beard/stubble and needed to manage it without commiting to a major outlay, in case the look wasn't for me. WAHL being a recognised brand at £13 quid seem to tick the boxes for me.When it arrived, 2 days later at standard delivery, after a couple of uses I'm happy with it.Pros+ price, a lot of reviews say this performs as well as £30+ trimmers, seems like it to me.+ nice look, light weight to hold.+ plenty of adjustable heads, to meet different beard lengths, from short close stubble to 12mm.+ seems to have plenty of charge, haven't needed to put it on again yet (did an overnight 1st charge as reccomended).+ uk style plug charger houses the two pin euro, so no need for any converters to charge, anywhere.Cons- mounting base and it's fitting/head holding features is barely fit for use. Got rid of that instantly.- it looks chrome metal, for the money you obviously don't get that, so you have cheap chrome style plastic (lightweight at least). Styled like it should feel weighty like proper chrome bodied trimmers.- heads and attachments feel like if pressed or clipped on the wrong way, they would break easily. Plastic on these could be better.
