They actually work on most locks!
This set is ideal for beginners learning to pick locks as it comes with a large set of clear practise locks and a wide range of picks. After a bit of practise I found it quite easy to pick most cylinder door locks and even quite substantial padlocks that boasted a 30 minute anti cut time could be picked in less than 30 seconds. Now I’m a little bit more experienced I will probably upgrade to a better set but I can’t fault this set for value for money and is ideal for a beginner

Great quality for the price!
I first got into lock manipulation about five years ago, after being given a basic beginner pick set. I found myself constantly wanting to try more locks, each one harder than the last. I never had any practice locks though, because I wasn't really aware of them back then.Getting back into the hobby recently, I decided I should find some practice locks to get started on. I didn't want to spend too much on them because I never know how long i'll stick with a hobby before moving onto something else. I often go through phases of going back and forth with certain interests.I saw the reviews for this practice lock set, and for the price, I thought I should buy them.Overall, the quality of the product is very, very good. I don't want to focus too much on the quality, because after all, they are not designed for use as security products. However, they are very sturdy and I don't see why they won't last for years if used as intended. All the locks are supplied with keys, and each lock/key set is supplied in it's own case. The acrylic is crystal clear, allowing you to observe the internal workings of the locks, which is useful when learning new techniques or polishing your skills. The only real exception here is with the rim latches (see "four stars" notes below). The variety of the set is impressive, in that it includes a high security padlock design, and a rare cross key lock. I say rare, because i've never come across this type of lock in more than 10 years of dealing with keyholding contracts. I know they are readily available, but i've never personally seen any in use. I liked the fact that one was included in this kit, because it presents a mammoth challenge, and I do like challenges!I'm slightly disappointed with the Euro cylinders in the set. They are both dimple locks (see attached photos), whereas the pictures on the product page suggest that one of them might be a standard "Yale key" type design. I have no idea why this is, unless one of the cylinders features standard pins while the other features mushroom or spool pins. This isn't clarified in the accompanying booklet, and I have no way of finding out as yet. Furthermore, I was surprised to find that, bizarrely, each of the euro cylinders requires two different keys. Usually, one key would work in both sides of the cylinder (think mortise lock function on a back door, for example, where the door can be locked and unlocked from either side using the same key), but here, you essentially have two dimple locks per cylinder, giving you four different dimple locks. I'm trying to see this as a plus, as it gives you the option to practice with different dimple locks, instead of the same one.The accompanying booklet does provide plenty of general information about the functionality of locks, as well as some lock picking theory. If you want to read it though, you might want to consider adding a magnifying glass to your order. The print is a little too small for my liking, and i'm a non-spectacle wearer with 20-20 vision. In summary, I think it's a great set for the price. The locks could do with some light lubrication out of the box, but aside from that, there's plenty here to keep you busy for hours! So why only four stars?- The shackle on the high security padlock in this kit (with the "Abloy" style keys) feels quite loose. It still functions as intended though.- The "Euro Cylinder" style locks provided are both dimple locks (see attached photos).- The design of the acrylic casing on the rim latch type locks warps the appearance of the internal workings when viewed side-on, making them difficult to observe.- Tiny print in the booklet which comes with the set.My gripes are only small though, and they don't detract from the fun of overcoming the challenge offered by this set. I'm looking forward to spending some time mastering it!

Excellent value
These picks are decent quality and are nice to hold. They're much better than I was expecting for the price. They're a decent starter set which I ordered after a recommenation from someone giving a talk on locks at my local Hackspace. Some of the practice locks are very ambitions with the tools and instructions supplied.

The locks are ok for practice but are not very strong ( one perspex housing has split on me already and I am gentle. Also the mechanisms and barrels are very loose inside the perspex so you don't get the proper lock piking feel as in tension, tolerances etc

Fun to learn with, but some prior knowledge is required...
First off, some of the locks feel rather tacky, but they all do the job. The instructions are rather bare and don't help with the higher security locks. But that is part of the fun. The pack has various locks, each offering a different challenge. Brilliant to mess about with and learn with. However some intuition and prior knowledge, i feel, is recommended. But fun for beginners and some of the locks will most likely challenge intermediate lock pickers. I would give 5 stars except for a couple of the locks feeling a little tacky and temperamental depending on which key was used to unlock them. Overall, fun and engaging for a beginner.

Waste of time and money
Garbage, flimsy, poorly put together, no quality. No need to pick the locks, a stiff stare would open them.Don’t waste your money
