In my experience they really do work but think .....
I started using these after a recommendation from a friend, and noticed a significant improvement in the lawn. Then, slowly I saw patches appearing on the lawn, and having read many mixed reviews, I used them on and off for a few years (maybe continuing to use them, but not replacing them as often), with mixed results. That said, I stopped using them completely for 3 months and REALLY noticed a difference in the lawn i.e. a LOT more burn patches, which led me to think about why they maybe were not working when I was using them. Simple answer - ALL of the dogs water sources need to be treated, and the tangible difference in effectiveness on my lawn also coincided with ... installing my ponds. My dog drinks out of the pond, drinks from plant pot saucers, drinks from containers in the garden that have filled with rain water, and she drinks from the bottle I take out when we go for long walks - filled straight from the tap. Duh! Basically, she will drink from everywhere except the treated water if she has the option - not because it has dog rocks, but because the other sources all probably taste nicer not originating from the tap!Since I've removed the other options, and now fill her walkies drinking bottle from an old water filter jug that now contains dog rocks and not a Brita filter (note to guests, use the fridge for drinking water not the Brita jug) .... no lawn burn at all.I don't doubt these rocks may not work for all dogs, but when my dog drinks primarily from 'dog rock water' (I'm never going to stop her slurping puddles and the like!) the burn is absolutely minimal. My advice - use dog rocks and think about the other water sources available to your dog and try to treat or minimize them. This is the reason I give them 5 stars overall but only 3 stars for ease of use - its not the product, its the nature of our dogs!

Hit and miss
I've been using Dog Rocks for several years now and I keep using them because when they work they are brilliant - no yellow patches in my lawn, no dead patches.BUT I have found that whatever it is in the rocks that gives them superpowers is unreliable. Some rocks are brilliant and work very well, whereas others have no effect whatsoever. To be honest, when I realise I've got a dud pack I just bite the bullet and buy another pack and it's usually OK.I guess that the 'magic' in these stones is natural and, as such, is not quality controlled and is therefore purely hit and miss. It would also explain why some people find them useless yet others find them miraculous. I have decided that the cost of a packet (high though it is) is less than the cost of a new lawn.

Saves your lawn
This is a great product I have been purchasing for a few years now. It's a simple, cost effective and low effort solution to those annoying brown patches that can spoil an otherwise pristine lawn.Simply add the rocks to your dogs bowl of water and that's it. I change mine every 6 weeks and that seems to do the trick.

Simply Did Not Work - Waste Of Time and Money and Insulting/Sarcastic Customer Service!
Despite advice from my vet that these would not work I gave them a go to try and save a newly put down lawn! I followed the guidelines to the letter, our dog has always been on a high quality dry food and the rocks were placed in his only source of water. After about 2 months the lawn was dying in large areas where the dog went to the toilet. No noticible change was noted. I contacted Dog Rocks to complain and ask for a refund which to be fair they offered but also suggested I try "double dosing" by putting another set of rocks in a decanting jug as given our dog was a labrador and drinks a lot of water, the rocks were not in contact with the water long enough. Again...another 6 weeks no difference...categorically 100% do not work despite them suggesting "with these simple tweaks I believe you should see a perfectly green lawn..." Well no, sorry!! I wrote back with pictures and it was suggested that what I was experiencing was in fact a "grub infestation".....well I was somewhat insulted...I know what urine damage looks like after 40 years of living with dogs. I suggested that I could not take this suggestion seriously and while I was again offered a refund I was written back to with sarcasm referring to a colleague "please take it from here as not being taken seriously probably won’t lead to an efficient or quick refund". Frankly shocked and insulted....told them to keep their refund and here is my review instead. Do not recommend this product!!

They actually work.
I have always been skeptical about such things and how they can possibly work and make its way to the kidneys where the urine is produced. But somehow, I still don’t know how, they actually work.I’ve purchased these 3 times and used for 2 years now and prior to it my grass was awful. Truly awful and I am a guy who is obsessed with keeping his lawn perfect. Sometimes I’d hose down where she peed to dilute it. Since using these rocks, and replacing them every couple of months, I’ve had zero issues.I don’t follow the instructions and only use water that has soaked in the rocks for 24 hours. I literally just keep the rocks in her big water bowl, and refill her bowl when it needs more water like usual. Every other week I’ll clean down the rocks as the typical slimy layer that appears in dogs water bowls can cover the rocks too, so I just give it a rinse and wipe so the rock is exposed and not covered in slime.I rarely write reviews but yeah, this somehow works as it should.

Too easy to remove
Unfortunately our dog loves these rocks….and removes them from her bowl to take to her secret hiding place under the hedge. They won’t be staying in her bowl to do their work. 😒
