Where can you purchase all the supplies needed to complete this sampler?

You can purchase all the individual components i.e. wool, thread on Amazon or purchase a kit from author of pattern

Is there a specific size circle to use, or can one use a size of their choosing?

The pattern calls for a 1" wool punch, but I should think that you can make them whatever size you want. The pictures in the patterns show 1 3/4" circles and placement of the stitches. There is no instruction of how to make the stitches, a companion book is required.
