This tall vase is hand turned from a piece of spalted maple. It is 11 1/4 inches high and has a depth of 8 1/2 inches. The top diameter is 4 1/4 inches and the base is 2 1/2 inches. There is an inlayed veneer band around the top and a relief carving on the bottom displaying the artist's name and the year the vase was made. The vase was hand sanded then protected with many coats of glossy lacquer wood finish and the inside was treated with linseed oil.
