Simply Awesome and Spiritually Challenging.
This is a book that all believers should read especially pastors and ministers who are in leadership role. This book really challenges me to deeply looked within my walk with Lord. God has surely employ the writer with excellent incites about the ministry especially in the role of pastoral leadership. This book has convicted me to re-evaluate those areas of my life that start to become more sinfully attractive. But the most important lesson that I gathered from this book overall is to stay humble before the Lord as well as around people. My humility is to remind me that the Lord gets the glory not me.

Life lessons
This book relates to those whose guidance is of their own. As a minister under the unction of the Holy Spirit, I am lead by the Christ in my leader to go forth. I don't know if I would recommend it to others. This book was for class.

Excellent.
Scavenged the public library needing some books on leadership towards my MDIV. Intended to grab a few quotes for a paper and couldn't put it down. I've been in ministry 19 years and this guy had some real wisdom to share. We are lacking so much content on character development in christian leadership today and David gets it. Highly recommend for every pastor, especially "Todd" who was gifted this book at his ordination by his parents according to the inside front cover of this donated library book. Hope he read it.

get this book!
This book has every Christian leader in its crosshairs. The author thoroughly unpacks seven balances that directly correlate to the things that are constantly stretching those of us who have devoted our lives to ministry. There is no doubt, these insights have been birthed out of being in the trenches of genuine ministry. I felt like I was sitting down with a seasoned mentor, speaking directly into my life. Pastor Horner's honesty, and even vulnerability, is tremendously refreshing and profoundly enlightening. Scripture is everywhere in this book, as are surprisingly relatable stories. This book pushed me and healed me at the same time. With all the things I am reading as a pastor, this one was definitely worth making time for!
