I bought this for my children who love to read. It helps so much with books that has more challenging vocabulary that they don't have to ask me, or type it up to look up the definition. It's super easy to use and very accurate. You can choose a few different types of dictionaries. If there is a word in the definition that they don't understand, they can highlight that word to see its definition too. Their ages when I got it for them were 6 and 8 years old. It's great for even younger kids to even adults.The only requirement is that the font size of the words have to fit in the width of the C pen. So any text-heavy kids book or novel would be okay. Very highly recommended product!

My child has dyslexia, and this reading pen is very empowering for her. She is able to read books at her grade level by herself, because she can use the C Pen to read and look up any words she doesn't understand. It took us a little while to figure out how to work the reading pen because the instructions are a bit lacking, but now that we have it figured out it's easy. The only negative I can see is that the dictionary must not be a full dictionary. My daughter is currently reading a historical fiction novel, and some of the words don't show up in this pen's dictionary. They aren't words that are as commonly used these days, but they should still show up in the dictionary.

I used the product to try and have it read the word back to me. However, it could only handle one sentence at best maybe two and I found that frustrating. It would be excellent for a young child who is just beginning to read! The cost is not that bad either for such a tool. If they ever start making an upgrade that could read the whole page back to you, I would love to be a tester! But for now, this tool is only good for a child just starting to read or a grade school child who just seems that little bit of help.

Never worked properly. A complete waste of time and money. Do not buy this product.

There is a little bit of a learning curve to use this but now that I've figured it out ... it's great for getting books read.

This was my first-time trying one of these. I think it had excellent qualities- easy to set up, nice accessories, lightweight, good customer service.However, I could not get beyond using the tool at a 90 degree angle. When holding your tool at 90 degrees, you can’t practice/improve reading skills simultaneously because you are covering the text. I think this defeats the purpose. As an aside, the sound of this dragging against paper is like nails on chalkboard.

The reader pen is not shock proof and will damage if you drop it. For the price that is being asked, a protective case is a must. I've ordered this product before and dropped it once on a concrete floor and the device bricked. I ordered a second device off Ebay. It was also bricked. I do enjoy the product which is why I ordered it three times, but there needs to be a way to shock proof this device or at least provide a case. The tech repair cost without insurance is extremely expensive about as much as buying a new device because you have to pay to ship the item to Sweden to get it fixed. You have to pay for shipment, repair and return shipment totaling $200+ dollars. Just beware when you buy this device because you will have to rig a DIY case or else you run the risk of losing your money.

Work with children who have special needs sometimes it’s hard for them to read and sound out words. This product is great to help with reading for all ages.
