This Tool and Pex-A is the only way to go.....
I'll never go back to pex crimp fittings after using this thing. This tool, along with pex-a tubing and expansion fittings are the bee's knees. One of the hot water copper lines in our house developed a random leak under the slab. Never have dealt with that before in any house we've owned. So, my only options were to bust the slab up and repair the line, or abandon the leaking line and run a new pex-a line off the hot water manifold up and over through the attic and down to our master bath. Naturally, I opted for the latter, along with insulating the line in the attic.I did a bunch of research on this tool and the Milwaukee M12, and ultimately decided on the DeWalt. The tool is like any of my other DeWalt tools I have, meaning it feels like a quality tool and performs great. The tool is balanced well, and it expands the pex-a tubing and expansion collar flawlessly. The tool is dang pricey, but after watching countless videos on YouTube and reading reviews on pex-a vs pex-b and crimp fittings, I opted for the DeWalt expansion tool and to replumb with pex-a. The money spent was well worth it as I have complete confidence in the install. Once again, this tool and pex-a expansion fittings are the way to go.

Works as expected
Works as expectedPROS: Came with carry case, battery charger, 2 spare batteries and the 1/2", 3/4", 1" attachments.CONS: If you are not a plumber, you really don't use this often. Its a bit expensive for single use but not available to rent anywhere.Overall, if you plan to use it frequently then its a good purchase. but I can't image anyone except a plumber using it frequently.

Worth having.
This tool works great.

Great tool, but........
Instructions were weak regarding how much grease to use and where to place it. The expander attachments need to have a liberal amount both on the outside but most importantly in between each blade. This is a MUST !! My expander blades locked up numerous times because I didn't have enough grease. Lesson learned. Once I learned this trick, this tool performed like a beast !!

Saved me tons of money.
Got quoted $8000 to repipe my house so I took matters into my own hands. Repiped the whole house with pex-a for around $2000, including this expensive tool. The tool, like most things from Dewalt, is solid. If you’re already in the 20v line and need a pex expander, you can’t go wrong with this.
