The headband (and snakes) are made from a flexible plastic, which I found to be very comfortable on my head. It stayed in place very well considering the headress is so large. It is not so flexible that you would be able to reshape the snakes, though. The back of the headpiece is open or unfinished, but that did not matter at all to me. I was very happy with the price I paid, and I would say it's value was worth more than the $5.

Buyer beware: this is clearly sized for a child's head. Sturdy plastic, fairly heavy for a head piece, looks as described. Does not fit an adult-sized head well at all--the head band stretched and caused the snakes to overlap and the whole piece to be off-balance. A top-knot or other sturdy hairstyle with lots of bobby pin/hair clip support may help keep it in place.

Does the job! It is somewhat small and tends to fall forward but for one nights costume I would recommend! It ties the whole look together.

Brown coloring very crappy quality. Its cheap plastic and a ugly brown color i had to paint it to have it match my costume. Not worth 20$ i had to make my own arts and craft.

This was very nice, but will not fit most. As many of the earlier reviewers said, it will only fit a very small child < 8. Would need a headband double the size to fit even a small adult. I’ve returned it, hoping for a refund.

I bought a Medusa costume from Walmart for a party, but I didn’t like the crown/headband that came with it. This one was cuter to me and less bulky. I got a lot of compliments and it came in good time also. It did slide off my head a couple times but that didn’t bother me.

Looked better than the headpiece that came with the Medusa costume I ordered. I have an average sized head and it fit well. I had to adjust it a few times throughout the night but it stayed on better than I expected based on the other reviews.
