I bought both the hard, dual-layer version of this case (Shield+) and soft, single-layer version (Shield) for my iPhone 8. Since they’re pretty similar and fairly close in price it’s worth comparing them in this review.The Shield+ and Shield both fit the iPhone 8 very well. This is pretty surprising since a lot of case manufacturers’ repackaged iPhone 7 cases marketed as iPhone 8 cases often fit poorly on the 8. Both of these cases fit better than some of the cases I tried that cost three or even four times as much.The Shield+ is noticeably slicker than the Shield, but dropping it won’t be a problem since the sides are easy to grip. The Shield definitely feels better in the hand and is the grippier of the two cases. The Shield also has grippier strips on the sides that are missing from the Shield+, a strange omission since they are really nice to help you hold on to your phone.Size and weight wise, the Shield+ is noticeably thicker and heavier than the Shield, but that’s to be expected of a dual-layer case compared to a single-layer case. Frankly, the Shield is better in almost every category except for one — the protection.The Shield+ is hands down better at protecting the phone compared to the Shield. The hard polycarbonate back wraps around the phone at six key points — the corners and sides. This makes it MUCH better if the phone lands anywhere except face down. The Shield and Shield+ have a very similar lip, so a face down drop will be about the same in either case, but the Shield+ has more rigid sides since they’re held in place by the polycarbonate back. Because of that, the Shield+ will be a bit better in a face down drop, but not a lot so get a tempered glass screen protector. My phone has taken two 4-foot drops onto hardwood and concrete, and other than some scuffs on the case, is perfectly fine.Bottom line: if you want maximum protection go with the Shield+. Otherwise, you’ll probably be happier with the single-layer Shield. Since my phone tends to take a bit of a beating, I usually keep the Shield+ on it but I really like both cases.Crazy design aside, these are some really nice cases. I’m hoping for a simpler, plainer design in the future while retaining the great protection and quality build. It’s definitely easy to pick my phone out of a lineup when it’s in this case.

Overall great case.Pros:- younger than most- deep lip to cover the face of the phone from touching surfaces- I had the larger version of this case for my iPhone 7 Plus when I had it. I dropped that phone a few times inside as well as once when getting out of my car and it protected the phone just fineCons :- slippery on the side where it is smooth instead of rough

Bought this for my iPhone 8 and here’s my thoughtsPros- Light weight, doesn’t make the phone feel heavier- Carbon fiber design makes it look cool- Durable TPU, so this thing will take a beatingCons- TPU on the edges that go around the phone are a little too flexible making the case come off easy, and in my case that’s something I don’t want- If you have a glass screen protector on the edges of the is case are not high enough. So if you like slamming your phone or sliding it screen down, your screen will mostly take the impact.- No color varieties (this would look sick with color combinations)Overall: it’s a good case for the price. If you want something to get you around you can’t go wrong but if you want above average protection then I’d look somewhere else. Plus if you’re lucky enough you can get a 50% coupon to use in their other products. That promotion is only for the first “1000 lucky” customers.

This is my 4th purchase of Anker products. I still have the mil-spec protective case for an iPhone 6s - really working well after 2 years of hard use of the phone. I got my son an iPhone 8 for Christmas and myself one (two-for-one deal at AT&T). These cases are great because they protect the phone well from drops, fit the phone great and are no where near as bulky as an OtterBox. I think this is a great value, especially considering the very reasonable price.

I love Anker and the items they sell, and this case is no exception! this is the second one I buy from them and they are really well made! And for the price this item is, I really recommend it! don't think about it and protect your phone with this case, you won't regret it!

I just want to make sure buyers know that this case offers NO grip at all. It appears from pictures and reviews on YouTube that there is a strip of raised rubber down the edge of this case. There is no such thing. It’s just a shiny plastic texture that offers no grip. Also, there is virtually no lay on the table protection. This ones going back.

Love the way this case fits on my phone. I’m able to grip my phone easily and this case has protected my phone well from when it has fallen on the floor.

This case looks great, it’s very durable and also surprisingly thin. Good bang for your buck
