No spill and no aftertaste of plastic
This cup is a little pricey for what it is. The weighted bottom is good and no plastic taste. The lid does not screw on. You have to push it on and pull it off with the tab. It would be difficult for a very elderly person to take the lid on and off. Since I am the one filling the cup it doesn't matter to me. My elderly parent liked it because it doesn't spill and doesn't have an aftertaste. I am glad I purchased as it solved a few problems for us.

This product is a disappointing lightweight
The mug was comfortable to hold. The lid seemed well constructed and didn't pop off easily, but the older person who was using it couldn't adjust to using any lid, so that feature was not useful. The big negative was that the little bit of extra weight added to the bottom of the super-lighweight plastic cup was quite insufficient. The mug weighed about as much as, or perhaps less than, a standard ceramic coffee mug, with the added worry that you had to make sure not to put the thing in the microwave. I ended up throwing it away as it was totally ineffective in reducing tremors. What DID work was to buy a heavy glass beer stein. It was definitely weighted enough to significantly reduce tremors and spillage, and it didn't need any special care in use.
