New Master of Romance...
I have been meaning to write a review of this book for a long time for amazon readers so now I have the opportunity. Masters of The Shadowlands by Cherise Sinclair is one of my all time favorite books. Not only do you get Master Z's story but you get Master Dan's also. So the price is actually for two books. That are extremely well worth it, trust me.Club Shadowlands-Jessica couldnt belive it when she hydroplaned off into a ditch and stranded her car. In the middle of a tropical storm raging in Florida, chances were good that she wasnt getting unstuck any time soon. So she headed to the nearest house she saw. Once getting there her life was going to change forever. The moment Master Z saw her his Dom instincts were fired. He wanted her and there was something about her that he hadnt encountered in a long time.Jessica's first venture into the world of The Shadowlands was something completely foreign and totally taboo for her. But after spending one night with Master Z, something had changed inside her. Could she let go of her inhibitions to snare the handsome Dom, or would she let her fears get the best of her.Sinclair does a wonderful job of introducing the reader slowly to the world of bondage in Club Shadowlands. There was never any objectionable material in my eyes. Master Z was very much the alpha male and that doesnt differ much from most other romance novels. I would say to people that are hedging on the borderline about the BDSM that this story will change your mind. Cherise will suck you right in and you will be hooked and begging her for more of her Masters of The Shadowlands.Dark Citadel-Master Dan was one of the most sought after Doms in Club Shadowlands. Handsome, strong, a great top. All the subs knew that one night was all you would get out of him. His past scarred him so badly one night was all he could give to anyone. Until Kari.Kari and her boyfriend had made an agreement to visit Club Shadowlands to explore some of his "wilder" sides. The whole BDSM thing being foreign to Kari, she was willing to try something new. After her boyfriend got a little too controlling Kari decided her time there was done. She headed out the door, but not before Master Z intervenes in both her and Dans lives. When asked if she would like to continue the evening, but with a more experienced Dom, Kari agrees. After all Dan is extremely handsome and does something to her insides she had never felt before. After a brief encounter with him though, she believes its all over and she wont be topped by him again, until his jealousy flares and he claims her for another night. Will Kari be the sub to bring Dan out of his downward spiral. Can she convince him there is more to life than holding onto the past so tightly? Or will she give up and leave Dan and Shadowlands behind her forever?Dark Citadel is my favorite of the Shadowlands series. Dan is definetly a wounded hero type and those are always my favorites. Rather than the man rescuing the woman, its the other way around. Even though he may fight and deny it Kari is pulling him out of his hard shell he created. Sinclair only gets better with each new work that she writes. She introduces a little more of the BDSM scene in this book but in no way hard core. Now I will also say that the Shadowlands series doesnt stop after these two. The third is with Master Nolan, a much darker, much more sinister man. His story is another very much worth reading, but as the heroine had come from a terribly abusive man, the BDSM in Breaking Free was much darker than that of the first two stories. Still a great read! Her next series is called Master of the Mountain. This in my opinion is Cherise's best work by far! The characters are so well developed, they both have such scarred psyches that it leaves you wondering how they will ever fall for each other. Trust me, Master is so worth your time reading. There is a small amount of bondage in it but nothing offensive.Trust me, picking up any one of Sinclair's books is well worth the read.

Just as good the 2nd time. Excellent BDSM book for beginning BDSM readers :)
Love me some Master Z and the Shadowlands. Mmmm. If there was ever something that could tempt me into actually moving back to Florida it would be Club Shadowlands and the luscious, swoonworthy Masters that work, play and love there. Seriously these men are all kinds of make your panties melt hot. Especially Master Z who runs the place and his brand new subbie, Jessica. The quick of it is that Jessica is having a bitch of a day. Pretty much everything is going wrong ending with an armadillo, lots of rain and landing her car in a ditch on the side of the road. I mean. Can't a girl catch a break? Trudging along to the nearest house she stumbles into Club Shadowlands--a BDSM club--and the sexy and mysterious Master Z who's all on board with introducing her to his decadent world“This was like being Alice in a very twisted Wonderland...”Lucky, lucky bitch! I seriously love Master Z. He's pretty much my older man fantasy come to life. Holy flipping hell. I would be a puddle around him. What I loved both times around is how safe he made me feel in this world. First time with getting introduced to BDSM right along with Jessica and this time just the comfort of a Master Dom who KNOWS what he's doing and has a gift for getting inside people's minds to see what they really need. He can make a girl shiver in all kinds of wickedly good ways. *nods*shirtless, man candy, alpha male, goatee, david gandyThen there's Jessica who was a pretty awesome heroine. She's rocking some curves and isn't rail then or perfect physically--another thing I love about Sinclair's writing. The women feel real and come in all body types. And their hero's totally worship them for every single bit of themselves. Anywho. Jess is a feisty one but can be a little shy and conservative at the same time. She's also one who will not back down when she thinks someone is in need of help even if it gets her in some rather...sticky situations. Like I said. My first go around I was experiencing it all with Jessica as she uncovered the world for the first time and I totally connected with her because of that. It was fun exploring as she did. It never felt overwhelming or too scary.Things are steamy as all get out between these two and kick off pretty quickly. And I loved it. Zachary is a talented talented man no matter what the situation and you can feel that power and control just seeping off the pages. Gah. I love when an author can really make you feel that. The sex scenes are just as intense and even though these two have just met the connection and trust between them is just incredible. Even when scenes are out in the open--in a club setting-- they have such an intimate and powerful feel to them.On re-read my only issue was that since it originally came out Sinclair did a bit of scene editing in one spot and I didn't love the change. It made it more watered down in my opinion in that spot and while the original scene had some edge to it I loved it and really preferred the original.I could easily go on and on about Club Shadowlands. The characters just touched my heart and made me want to be right there with them. The Masters are scorching hot alpha Doms that know how to wield a punishment but they're sweet and caring too and oh they can make things fun and light hearted when they want. If you've ever been curious about BDSM romances Sinclair and Club Shadowlands are the place to start. Hot and steamy, full of passion, intensity and humor. They're everything I look for in an erotic romance. Sinclair had me smiling, sighing and having a serious swoon. Just the perfect BDSM-y read for me each time around.
