Great for sewing
I use this tape to baste seams before I sew them with a sewing machine. It's really easy to apply, though you'll want to use a press cloth because the paper starts to slide off the sticky part and it can get on your iron if you're not careful. It works so much better than pinning. It's really helpful when you need to sew narrow seams or if you're sewing small things together. I used it to "glue" bra fasteners onto a bra I was making. Perfect! It did not gum up my needle at all. The smell is a little strong but I only use a tiny amount at a time. It looks like there's only one roll in the bag, but before you complain, check it... I had two rolls stuck together!

This tape saved my sanity!
I haven't used basting tape in all my years of sewing. But, I decided to make embroidered tree skirts for my kids for Christmas. What was I thinking when I decided upon velveteen and satin as the fabric???? I struggled to get a decent seam...the velveteen crawled and the satin slipped. Desperate, I tried this tape with low expectations. I didn't think any tape would adhere to either type of fabric. Not only did this tape adhere, it saved my sanity. I am extremely pleased with the tape's performance and from now on, will keep this basting tape in my sewing arsenal.

Does not stick.
This product deserves zero stars. Do not waste your money on this product. I purchased to help baste together sofa cushion fabric. The tape does not even stick to the fabric at all. Sticks to itself… I’ve used another product in the past that I must have purchased locally with great success. Waste of money and my time..

Great for temporary basting!
Worked very well for me - I think it depends on what you are trying to do. For a temporary hold of reasonably light materials while you sew them, it's great. I used it to hold a raw lace edge in place around a neckline while I overlocked it. Worked GREAT and finished product was much neater. So much better and faster than basting by hand. Hardest part was getting a corner of the paper backing started so I could peel it off. Washed out beautifully.

What one would expect
It's sticky tape - double sided. It's only a quarter inch. The paper backing is hard to snap apart. But the product works. When your fingers get glue residue, the stuff really gets sticky. But no - the glue did not stick to my sewing machine needle. Yes, I tried both ironing and not ironing. I was using a very light fabric. Altering a shower curtain, made of mildew resistant material. Major brand. Glue stick worked better but took longer. My seam with a glue stick looked like factory. The seam with the tape, was a bit too wide. May have been better to use 1/2 inch and not 1/4 inch. Will look for 3/8 inch. But if you are using this for cotton and not pressing with an iron, but just finger pressing, get an iron. This is for tricky material that takes low heat, can't fold or crease well, and helps not having to pin or clip. I still used clips. The better seam with glue, I used pins. So who knows. But it works. Sticky. But it is only a quarter inch wide. And the paper is hard to rip. If the strip you are trying to use twists, good luck ;)

LIFE CHANGING TAPE FOR SEWING KNITS (PROBABLY MORE FABRICS TOO!)
I would give this tape more stars if possible. Where has this tape been all my knit stitching life? If you're giving up on sewing knits, take heart, this stuff will change your life. It's heaven sent for those of us who have been doomed to wavy seams when we try to sew knits. AND IT WASHES OUT

Handy upholstery tape
I used tge tape for making an upholstery futon cover. Double sided tape keeps edges from unraveling. Tip: Do not sew over the tape. The sticky glue messed up my needle and froze up my sewing machine handle. Apply the tape after sewing the seams. Tape under the seam to open the seam up and prevented fibers from unraveling. Do not cut with scissors but pull the end of the tape by hand.

Not sticky at all.
If you want a tape that sticks this is definitely not what you want!!! I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Stickiness is just not there.

I am a self taught sewer so any help I can get is appreciated. I found this tape very helpful in hemming a shirt I shortened. It was easy to apply and sticky enough to hold the hem in place while I folded and sewed it. Even allowed for repositioning. I doubt if the tape would be much use for knits or heavy weight fabrics but works for cotton type and light weight fabrics. After application and sewing I soaked the garment in warm water then washed as normal. There seemed to be no residue remaining from the tape, no extra stiffness in the hem. A more experienced sewer might not see the need but I found this tape useful and can see me finding other applications in the future.

Je l'ai testé pour poser une fermeture éclair sur une polaire, très pratique et se dissout très bien.
