These spoons are great not only for making roux but also for scraping up the fond after browning meat.

I have purchased many of these sets to hand out to family members because my mother received a used spoon like the solid one here 65 years ago and it's still being used regularly--it's a favorite cooking spoon. I don't know whether these spoons will last as long and may update this in the future, but to find them offered as a set and to be able to purchase them for this price has been a long search fulfilled.

This set of 10-inch service spoons is exactly what I needed in my kitchen arsenal. The 18/8 stainless steel feels high quality—strong, durable, and with a nice weight in the hand. I love the flat-end design; it makes it easy to scrape the bottom of pans or serve thick dishes like macaroni and cheese or casseroles and stews. They’re versatile enough for cooking and service, and they look sleek enough to use at the table too. Having two in the set is a huge bonus for me. These are not completely flat at the ends but....these are still great to have for my cast iron skillet. I recommend these because they weren't too expensive and they are light weight and definitely do the job. Again, great for my cast iron skillets. Quick Shipping!

I absolutely love these spoons! I am cooking for one, out of a little yellow cookbook, so most of my mixing and cooking is done in small bowls or small pans. These 8 inch spoons are the perfect size. I have an older eight inch Richcraft roux spoon that I was hoping that these would compare to, and they do! The spoons are sturdy and I have had no problems or complaints about sharp edges. The added bonus is that these spoons have the roux or flat edge so they don’t leave anything unmixed in the bottom of a bowl, or burnt in the bottom of a pan. I will never go back to regular shaped mixing spoons. I want a whole handful of these spoons in my spoon crock! I’ve added a photo showing my Richcraft spoon and the new spoon. The other new one is in the dishwasher.
