My first project was a series of catalog shots of watches. The cone did amazing well at hiding all of the glare. I watched Karl Taylor's video and learned how to add in some reflections using tape. The whole project went amazingly well and only took about 90 minutes instead of an entire day. Well worth it.

After hearing all the hype, I decided to try it on a few product shoots, and I’m honestly impressed. It makes lighting a lot easier and more controlled. The quality is solid, and it saves me so much time during shoots. If you’re serious about taking your product photography to the next level, this is a tool you need to have.

Yes it's a bit pricey. Yes, you could make your own. But by the time you'd found a material that works this well, figured out how to cut it to form this shape, and somehow fastened the edges together, you'd have spent a lot of time on something not quite as good, and wish you'd just bought this instead. I popped it together, put some lights on it, and got the perfect shot. Bing. Just like that.

This cone really helps with lighting and reduces reflections on silver jewelry. My items are very small and I use an iPhone. I do find that the cone makes it hard to get closer to the item (like a photo of an earring on an ear). I also need to figure out a way to hold this horizontal so I can take certain pictures. I’m sure the creator has a video that helps with this. Overall, I am very glad I bought it. It has reduced my time having to color correct product photos.

I needed a solution to reduce or eliminate unwanted glare on shiny and reflective items, and I tried a number of DIY options that are all over the web. Some worked OK but most were a waste of time and effort. So I bought the Karl Taylor iPhone cone and wow … it’s amazing! 10-second setup, small footprint on my table, and the glare on shiny objects is either reduced significantly or gone altogether. This cone has sped up my photo taking and eliminated the time wasting and frustration I was dealing with. I wish I had bought this cone sooner.

I'm in the process of setting up an online knife business and it's quite difficult to take pictures of shiny blades for my website. So, I thought that I'd give this a try - it's turned out to be a home run! Using this along with a truly vertical overhead camera mount with clean, white light, my pics have come out looking like a pro did them. I'm no pro; if you're not a pro and need to take pics of shiny objects, this is worth it's weight in gold and will make your life a whole lot easier. It's a great product!
