Great Quality and Value For Money.
Majority BX200 Bluetooth Boombox. In a time where getting value for money is increasingly rare and increasingly important, Majority audio is a company that offers it in spades.I am an audiophile who loves music and technology. Usually my budget limits my urges to purchase new equipment.I have purchased a number Majority audio products and they have hit the sweet spot between supplying quality equipment at very reasonable prices. For my latest purchase, I wanted an audio player for my garage, where I use a running machine everyday.I purchased the Majority Oakcastle BX200 Bluetooth Boombox as it was very versatile and could play music via Bluetooth via my phone (Amazon Music) via my extensive CD collection and via Aux, USB. As a bonus there is also an FM Radio .The item arrived quickly via Amazon and was packaged really well. On opening the box, I was very impressed with the solid build quality and the retro look of the boombox. I opted for the black colour and did not regret it as it is a very classical look.I turned the unit on and first tested out the Bluetooth function. I linked quickly to my iPhone and played Amazon Music through the Boom Box. The sound was surprisingly good based on the dimensions of the BX200 and the price point. The Bluetooth connection was stable and remained playing after I walked out of room with the iPhone in my pocket.I then tested the CD player function. I played a Queen CD and the sound was slightly better than from Bluetooth. Very impressed with the bass and clarity of Freddie voice.I next tested the USB element and played some Northern Soul via the USB port. Again, I was very impressed with the sound quality I experienced.I then set up the FM radio and found it easy to set up pre set channels for my favourites. You can set up 20 pre-sets. The manual supplied was a great help and made the process very simple. The unit can be used on either battery or mains and this allows you to take the boom box with you when you are on the move. The battery life on the unit is 15 hours of playtime.Another fantastic, feature rich product from Majority Audio.Great quality product, that is very functional, sounds fantastic at an unbelievably low price. Do not hesitate to purchase this item.

Majority Oakcastle BX200 Bluetooth Boombox
OverviewThis is a standard portable “boombox” with FM radio, CD player, Auxiliary input and of course Bluetooth connectivity. In the box: BX200, mains lead and manual.Sound qualityI found the sound quality to be quite acceptable for a device of this size but having been spoilt by some of the more expensive Bluetooth speakers out there now, I admit the depth of sound when listening to both Debussy and Metallica was just ok. Using the headphone jack, gave a better sound through headphones and I liked the jack being at the front of the unit so it was easy to connect. In short, I would not call the sound quality amazing but realistic for the £40 cost and unit’s size.FunctionsWhile quite a versatile unit, I think the main function, certainly for me would be Bluetooth, playing from Spotify or other sources. The connection to my phone took a while but when it did connect, the sound came through clearly enough. The radio was a typical FM offer but the ease of programming presets and general use of buttons on the front was not that easy. I liked the simplicity of inserting a CD but this media is quite outdated now. Using a USB stick was a breeze. Swift connection and clear playback, with the next / previous track buttons performing well.Battery powerWhile I didn’t wait until the batteries had run down completely, the BX200 showed it was very capable of providing a good level of sound on battery power and thus on the move should prove no problems at all.ConclusionBeing perfectly honest, I wonder how popular such a unit will be, given the existence of smart speakers at home and portable speakers that connect to phones. If you want a versatile (multi-input) device that is cheaper than a quality Bluetooth speaker, that can play those old CDs or just play FM stations clearly, this might be the unit for you to try out. From my experience, Majority produce some excellent products (I have personally bought a DVD player and ear buds that are fantastic and really well priced). It’s great to see the company give a 3 year warranty with this product as well so they clearly stand by its build quality.Overall, I give the Majority Oakcastle BX200 3 stars out of 5.

Stopped working after 2 months
Brought for a birthday present and worked fine for a few weeks. It’s now stopped working, won’t switch on at all, no power. Have contacted seller but to date not heard back.

Exactly what I wanted
I only use it for Bluetooth and CDs but it's amazing. Obviously the quality isn't perfect but its really good for the price and size of it.
