How about the capacity compared with normal 20 inch suitcase?

I just measured my old carry on compared to this new one and was surprised at how similar the measurements are. This new one seems so much smaller to look at. But the difference was only 2 inches in one dimension. My old one can be packed a little fuller, since it's a soft side. And it has two additional pockets on the outside that, on this new one, are on the inside. But I rarely used those pockets nor overstuffed it. I think I'm going to like this new one, but haven't traveled with it yet.

How about the capacity compared with normal 20 inch suitcase?

I compared it with a normal 20 inch suitcase which is middle open(not expandable), about 10% bigger, as it is one deep compartment design and the wide handle make it more easy to store things flat. I won't compare it with an expandable one as they're different design, that is meaningless.
