Volts times Amps equals watts. A 12volt 10VA transformer should handle .83 amps. Divide VA rating by secondary volts 10/12=.83. 12x.83=9.96. 9 each 1 watt items.

Q: I have a transformer identical to this one except it outputs 12v/1.5a. can i use this as a replacement? if not, anyone know where i can get one?

It depends. This transformer can dissipate 10 VA of power, which is 10 Watts. Since Watts = Volts X Amps, this transformer can safely draw 10/12 = 0.83 Amps of current. If your application draws 0.83 Amps of current or less and is rated at 12 V, this transformer will work fine. If your application draws more than 0.83 amps, then this transformation will not handle the current you need. It may overheat. Hope this helps.
