Placebo effect: Feels nice does nothing
I got this for when my electro micro current device ran out of battery I’d have something to use until I recharged. This just doesn’t compare to a electronic micro current device, and noticed my face didn’t look snatched, sculpted or lifted when using.A gua sha cost 1/4 of the price and delivers better results. It’s giving novelty skincare tools, not a holy grail.

I like this - but can't confirm the existence of the microcurrent...
This is an interesting device from Touch Beauty. It's very stylishly packaged in a grey box with a predominantly white branded card sleeve which includes the information that the facial massager was designed by Chiaki Murata, a Professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design. And certainly it does appear well designed. The business end is a V shape, at the ends of which are two 360 degree rotating spiral roller balls which have the effect of kneading the skin. Ergonomic and good to hold, there's a small solar panel in the upper part of the handle which apparently is activated by either natural or artificial light. This is what generates the microcurrent. I say 'apparently activated' as I've no actual evidence the microcurrent exists. Maybe it does. The suggestion that it will prove its existence if you roll it over the screen of a smartphone didn't convince - as nothing at all happened though the solar panel had been left exposed to the sun for a few hours. Unhelpfully, there are no clues in the listing as to what's supposed to happen anyway and I don't possess the 'professional equipment' it says might be tried as an alternative way of establishing the microcurrent is present, whatever that is.That said, I do rather like this device for its kneading/massaging properties which were apparent even if the microcurrent was not. And I like the fact that it may be used on other parts of the body such as the arms and thighs. Basically, you need to stroke the rollers across your skin in an upwards direction, irrespective of where it's being used. The massager comes with a soft grey velvet drawstring storage bag, a generously sized cleaning cloth and an instruction manual. I know I'm a bit of a sucker for beauty devices such as this and I'm often optimistic they might have some positive effect. I shall continue using this as it's so easy to use - and it requires no batteries or charging.

Gentle Microcurrent Facial Roller, Great For Mini Spa Days
This microcurrent facial roller has 360 spinning rollers that slide and knead the skin, providing a relaxing massage feeling. Thankfully, the current is very weak, so it isn’t strong against the skin, but it is relaxing to use.I can see that regular use as part of your daily skincare routine can make a difference to the appearance and elasticity of the skin itself. By gently stimulating the skin, it can boost blood circulation, and this can improve overall skin tone. It’s an excellent, effective facial roller and would make a lovely gift for anyone who likes to feel pampered.

It works but how do you clean it?
This roller definitely works as my face is less puffy after using it. I was also able to prove the microcurrent is being emitted as stated by using it to navigate my smartphone by using it on the touchscreen.I didn't like that it's made of plastic. It looks and feels a bit cheap - I'm worried it will get broken if I carry it around in my washbag.Other than the image on the back of the box, there's no instruction on how to properly clean it. The image shows water but I'm reluctant to try this in case of electrical malfunction. I'm also wary of using anything like alcohol in case it damages the finish or degrades the plastic, and wary of using the roller with facial oils for the same reason. There really needs to be clearer guidance supplied with the product.

No current?
These are gorgeous rollers and because of the rippled design of the head, it grips the skin well and can feel quite relaxing (just need to find right motion when moving to a different part of the face). However, I didn't feel any microcurrent and I'm skeptical that this item does this. Allow me to go on a tangent and explain why:I use a modern microcurrent device from a well known brand at home, this was my 2020 "glow up" gift to myself and I mention this as I know how the current feels on the skin at different strengths. Normally, you must apply a conductive gel (water based serums or creams can work equally well) before using your microcurrent device otherwise you will feel discomfort and the current won't be able to penetrate the skin properly. You may use microcurrent almost everywhere but avoiding the centre of the neck as this is where you have an important gland (thyroid I think but I can't remember, something important and you shouldn't do it!), so for health and safety it's a no-go zone. This device does all the opposite! You see pictures in the advert of a woman rolling the middle of her neck. This is known to be unsafe with microcurrent. There's no mention of using a conductive gel/serum. Apparently you don't charge the device but it's solar powered... So do I use this in the morning in front of my window? How do I utilise the solar energy to actually get the supposed microcurrent? Larger microcurrent heads/prongs are usually not recommended for the immediate mouth and orbital area since the muscles here are circular and require a detailed prong... This doesn't mention anything of the sort.I opened my roller at night time and used it. I enjoyed the feel of the prongs because of the ripple design but I didn't feel anything in ways of a current. Despite the advert claiming the device doesn't need charging, I placed the device overnight by my window to power up and I rolled my face with the curtains closed, still the same. I opened up my curtains and rolled my face in the bright sun light, still nothing.I read a review claiming the roller made ripples in the water so I gave this a try. I put the roller in and I did see ripples but I was also shaking from trying to hold the position. I tried putting the roller all the way in to the shallow water (picture I took) and noticed nothing, you'd see ripples as the prong is entirely made of the same material and if it were sending a current it shouldn't matter it it's the tip or the whole head. I digress. I tried another time to use both hands and gently lower into the water and the only ripples I noticed was when the device was entering the water and these immediately dissipated. No ripples, no current and I think just shaky hands as were the case when I initially tried.I'm taken aback by the current price of £29.99 along with everything I've mentioned. I'm giving this 1 star for being a decent shaped roller but the microcurrent feature seems to not be present. Even a low microcurrent will be felt especially by sensitive skin. Also if there was a current, better health and safety would have been included such as to use conductive gel and avoiding the centre of the neck.
