How many flares come with the higher priced refill package?

The combo flare kit with refill has 8 flares in all! That’s 4 with the kit, and a 4 pack refill.

the "Alert kit only" option is pictured with flare gun and 4 flares. Is that what it includes or is it just 4 flares only like Walmart sells for $20

No the add is confusing,you actually get a brand new flare pistol and (4) flares in a vert nice package I ordered it and was surprised that it included a pistol an the flares great value very satisfied customer,hope this helps

Compact size and not too expensive

This is a nice looking little flare gun. I haven't had to use it yet (and hopefully never will!), but it appears to be well made. The Coast Guard inspector who performed my vessel safety inspection also commented that it looked like a nice gun. Since this isn't the type of thing you really want to risk testing, I'll have to hope that it works as well as it looks like it should if the need ever arises.
