Get instant access to the history, technology, drivers, rivalries, racing circuits, and business of Formula 1 in this beautifully designed and illustrated essential guide from Motorbooks’ Speed Read series. The world racing championship that now encompasses 20 (and counting) annual races across five continents started in the European racing scene between the first and second world wars. It’s been a long road from the early races held in redundant airfields bounded by old oil drums to today’s extravagant spectacles—a road marked by glory, championships, iteration, technology, and speed. In sections divided by topic, you’ll find the history of the sport, biographies of major drivers and figures who have dominated the sport’s long and storied history, a rundown of the incredible technology that makes its cars so fast, an account of racing accidents and the safety measures they inspired, and more. Each section ends with a glossary of related terms , and informational sidebars provide fun facts, historical tidbits, and mini-bios of key people in Formula 1. Sleek illustrations of the cars, technology, and drivers impart the visual feel of F1 throughout. With Motorbooks’ Speed Read series , become an instant expert in a range of fast-moving subjects , from Formula 1 racing to the Tour de France. Accessible language, compartmentalized sections, fact-filled sidebars, glossaries of key terms, and event timelines deliver quick access to insider knowledge. Their brightly colored covers, modern design, pop art–inspired illustrations, and handy size make them perfect on-the-go reads. Review: The perfect book for those beginners seeking a good introduction into the world of F1... - This is the perfect book for someone like me who was always interested in the sport of F1. It's an easy read, but offers much more information and insight than anything on the internet you can read for free. The book's layout is logical and makes it fun to read, and the illustrations are like mini-posters that look cool. Overall, the best book I've read to get an introduction to the sport.

I cool book to have if you're a big F1 fan and a nice coffee table piece; easy read, nice illustrations, some quality insight. However, I don't think it is the "go-to" material for upcoming F1 fans that it was intended to be.

Most informative book for baseline F1 rules, history, and theory
Seriously if you are into F1 you need to have this book in your collection. It literally has every storyline from every season written in short but highly informative passages. I consider myself to be pretty well informed when it comes to motor racing and F1 in particular but i learn something new every time i open the book. I highly recommend it; it is an absolute steal for under $20...

GeeWiz F1 Book
This book is at best aimed at Junior high readers who are currently ignorant of F1. A waste of time for any knowledgable reader.

If you're an F1 snob, this is not for you. It contains one page technical, historical and driver tidbits. It doesn't go into great depth, but you'll learn a few things and enjoy it this light read.

The tech and design enthusiast's ultimate guide!
This is a lovely book for an enthusiast. I bought it for my 7 year old son whose obsession for figures and details (he's a bit like Rainman when it comes to cars) could be taken a step further. However the book is perfect for the adult enthusiast who doesn't need quite so many pictures as my son does to maintain interest. I think this would make an excellent gift for anyone who loves the sport. I returned mine as it wasn't suitable for anyone under, say, 12 years but that was my error.

Parece fotocopia de xerox
Parece um livro feito com xerox, qualidade ruim.

It does what it says in the blurb.
I bought this book as a gift for someone. This is his view; The book is a fun read, which looks at Aspects of Formula 1. This is not an in depth study of the sport, but for people who want a quick dip into the thrills of motor racing it is ideal

Does what it says on the tin
A concise run down of the basics of F1, including history, rules and drivers. Could be improved with photographs rather than illustrations. Overall good value for money. I would recommend it to someone wanting to grasp a good understanding of the sport.

Short but sweet
As the title suggests this is a short but sweet history of F1. As with most things F1 some aspects are slightly out date but it’s mainly a book on the history of F1 and how it got to where it is now rather than a look at the sport today.
